(OK but nothing special) Wine and beer list OK. Did not have desert and price very good with the $30 coupon for staying in the hotel. Service was also very pleasant and good.
We stayed at Sea Cliffe inn for 4 nights in March. Overall the experience was good. The price was a bit cheaper than the main hotels in town and over a long stay that adds up! We stayed in 1 room (2 queen beds), with our 3 kids under 5. We found the room clean, comfortable, and we had a lake view room and the kids found it fascinating to watch the Island ferry come and go. It was pretty cold outside, but it looked like there was some ice areas for walking. We saw lots of locals walking their dogs along the lake. Our room had a small fridge and a table with chairs. The hotel does not have a breakfast option, but we were able to bring food in and it worked well. There is a Kerrigan coffee maker as well. While we were at the hotel our kids came down with the flu, and the staff was very helpful in accommodating clean bedding and linens throughout the day. We stayed on the second floor of the hotel. There is no elevator, which made getting in and out of our room a little tiresome with the kids and luggage. Next time we know better to request a ground floor room. The plumbing in the building is very noisy. Every time we used water in the bathroom (toilet, tap, or shower), we would wake up the kids if they were already sleeping. Made it a little interesting. The room - hallway is not very sound proof. We heard all the other guests coming and going. The hotel also has no cribs for babies so the baby slept on the floor by our bed. All in all the hotel is nicer than I thought it would be. If we were staying without our kids I would have given it 4 stars, but there were just a few to many minor details that made the stay a little uncomfortable.
We had a room with a view of the lake which was nice. The room had a functional gas fireplace, tv and fridge. The one complaint and frankly is the most important aspect of any hotel/inn etc. is the bed. It was terrible. The mattress was hard and just felt very cheap. For the price, I expect a lot better. Heck, even an air mattress would be 10x more comfortable than this crispy hard mattress. We both had a terrible sleep because of the mattress. Also, be advised that it's right at the pier/ferry, there were some local kids that like to race their cars late at night, which may wake you up if you have the windows open. To management - Get new mattresses. This is unacceptable for a hotel where people expect to get a good night's rest. The nice view/room decor etc., does not make up for the terrible bed and lack of sleep.
Needed a place to rest and a change of scenery. Had the queen bed with a view of the lake. Very quiet and the room was very comfortable. Had dinner in our room as I was too tired, the table and chairs offered a great view of the lake and a nice place to eat.The staff were awesome and very friendly. When we checked in they offered up keys to see what the rooms were like and we chose our room. Thanks so much!
Nice clean spacious rooms. We had our bikes with us so they locked them up at night for us in a storage room. At 7:30 a.m. you could get complimentary coffee near the main desk area. Lots of space to park with a big bike rack.
