I visited the Sandbar Cafe this weekend with my friend and his daughter at the beach. We unfortunately lost our car keys in the sand, and to make matters worse, my friend's phone had died while mine only had 20% battery left. Unsure of what to do, we decided to step into the cafe. I keep this one of the best beaches in connecticut. soft sand, lots of space, good moods, a beautiful boardwalk, and it is full of variety. there are also many off-beach amenities such as a pool, good carnival style food with greasy beach eating, great changin room and bathroom that are generally very clean. the beach areas have different cultures some quiet, some with a party vitus, the volleyball courts can be a hit. there's a nice big boardwalk. that said the position in the sound means for good or bad, it will not be very wavy or windy. in the dog days of the summer (august) there can be cullen or bee, but for the greatest part it is a perfect temperate location.

Beach is clean, people are respectful of social distancing. Food is available for purchase so it saves you having to pack a lunch. Ice cream is great, nice and creamy. Will definitely go back soon!!
