Carlisse - Leuven

This restaurant is a relaxing spot, typical of what I would expect to find in Belgium. I recommend that everyone visit and enjoy a beer at least once.

Is this the 18th century? No cards, bancontact, or payconiq accepted for transactions below 10 euros.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food for a quick casual meal, and good selection of drinks. In summer they have a nice outdoor seating area right beside the library. I lost the receipt they gave me, which I needed to claim the costs of dinner, and they really went out of their way to help me get a copy.

Pasta Carbonara: I order a large portion of pasta that comes with free bread. The pasta is on the soft side, creamy and rich with an egg yolk attached. Environment and service are good.

The lady who serves/prepare drinks is rude and dishonest. As she did not accept any cards, I went to the bank nearby to take cash. Then I went inside the bar to pay and asked for the receipt but she denied it saying that it flew with the wind. What a lie in order not to pay taxes. When I asked again for the receipt she started shouting at me. I should report to the police, in the meantime I am writing my negative experience here. Avoid this place.
