Avaliação da contribuiçãoCatford has best kept secret, it is rare for me to venture in the southwest of london. sapporo ichiban is located at a random location near the rear streets of catford centre. do not let them be discouraged from the loading front over the glass doors, there is a huge fish pond with huge goldfish. right is the open kitchen and bar where they cut the cook sashimi and cook the hot food. Restaurant staff wearing traditional Japanese kimonos and hakamas, the times I went, they were polite, but tend to forget that they ask.
This place has a food hygiene assessment of two. that are two out of five. that is low according to all standards, but somewhere in serving rohem fish they really want to avoid it on about 4 or 5. like the plague.
For years back! beautiful restaurant, location not great, but who does not see it to see eating was always fantastic from the massive selection of sushi to the beautiful dressed like aromatic duck or a katsu curry portions are massive and prizes are fantastic! book in advance to get a beautiful table.

Beware of the reviews This place is NO GOOD!. I saw a 97% rating for this place thought, okay it must be awesome. I made a reservation here for a special occasion The area is dilapidated and although the restaurant is a gem in the area it is only considered so because you would be comparing it to the trashed store next door and public toilets facing the restaurant (see streetview Food is not good by Urban Spoon standards. The sushi was rushed and unfinished in its preparation. Service was slow and we needed to provide several reminders which of course is frustrating. The place wasn't even good value for money Save yourself the trip.
