Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe food was overall excellent. My husband and I had the filet excellent, high quality, perfect preparation. One friend had blackened salmon which she declared outstanding. The other friend had a chicken alfredo which he enjoyed very much. But the people running this place are spacey. The bartender and the waiter carried on a rapport which was not in the least amusing. They were tag teaming taking our order and bringing things to the table which created errors and disturbed our table conversation. Back and forth and back and forth. Along with a third, very casually dressed person who kept showing up. One friend ordered a wedge of lettuce salad with ranch it came with blue cheese crumbles, which he does not like. The third person tried to deliver soup twice. No one ordered soup. I had creme brulee which tasted quite fine, but was very liquid no custard consistency at all. This is our second time dining here. Last time was about a year ago. Had the same experience as we did the first time. In fact we started counting....strike one, strike two, strike three, strike seven...Ex had a confirmed reservation on Open Table. The waiter, who is most inept, said they had no record of it. Lighting was WAY too bright felt like I was in a McDonalds. No background music. Nothing to cut noise from other tables or the kitchen. Really not a pleasant setting at all. As my friend described it was not a relaxing, enjoyable dinner despite the quality of the food, because the staff were so intrusive and poor that you felt like you had to be paying close attention all the time to avoid catastrophe. As I mentioned our second time around. And our last.
Simple menu, but delicious. Best beef I have enjoyed in the Lexington area to include similar level of restaurants. It wasn 't fancy foodie fare, but straight up good. With only four meal entrees, one beef, one fish, one pasta and a chicken dish, the chef focused on the dish on your plate. The night there, the beef was a Tenderloin...a steak I would cook myself but better. Some of the other local places are trying to get fancy with braised short ribs or skirt steak....nobody goes to a streak house for those cuts, so I was very happy. It rivals any place in the local area, and was more value than some. My only disappointment was they ran out of the dessert my wife and I planned to share, but we were still happy with our selection. Again, a simple real (good) dessert. It has jumped to the top of my favorite places in the area.
Special occasion was my wife’s birthday. The entire experience was fantastic. Our waiter Sean (sp) and bartender Penny were fabulous and made our experience personal. We spent the weekend on the property (Maple Hall Inn) and were treated like royalty. The innkeeper is a jewel! Thank you all! Fred Vicki Robinson
When we asked for a dish, the cook came to answer. mathew was personal and informative. we had the main rib. perfectly cooked, very large part for standard cut. grilled vegetables was a pleasant surprise, very light and subtle taste, which perfectly complicated the main rib. savanna, our server was lovely, has taken great care of us, and even if we were the last diner, we felt no pressure to leave and let them finish their side work. it was a wonderful opportunity for old friends to reunite
The atmosphere was cozy and picturesque, eating was delicious, and they have a beautiful wine list. we all enjoyed our selections! Service prompt, consistent and friendly. it was great. we're coming back!
