Really good bbq and good apple donuts. kinda a fun place

Perfect country hospitality and bbq! While my wife and I were on vacation with my Daughter and her Family in the Shenandoah Valley region, by local recommendation we found Apple House to be a local gem. This unpretentious roadside diner grabs you the moment you walk in. With its café, diner and gift shop combination, it is a great change of pace from the big box, run of the mill road kill chains you'll find on the highways! These folks not only know hospitality and wear great smiles, but have the Owner's own fantastic pulled pork BBQ that is to die for! Made uniquely flavorful by slow cooking over hickory, apple, and oak, with their own Virginia BBQ sauce, it's served with cole slaw, kettle chips, and a pickle spear and made in their own smoker you can see coming from the parking lot... they even made one end of the smoker with pig ears, nose and mouth really cute! Ya gotta try their side of waffle fries with a slight kick... incredible! And, make sure you do not walk away without getting some of their fantastic apple cinnamon donuts... WOW! Next time we go hiking in the valley, horseback riding at Jordan Hollow, day tripping along Skyline Drive, or picking apples or peaches at nearby Stribling's Orchard, we're definitely stopping by! Apple House is highly recommended for the folks, ambience, comfort, hominess, hospitality, great tastes and plain good Country bbq vittles... Bon appétit!

Came here for a relaxing meal with the family. The food was pretty fast and tastes good! Beer and cider were excellent. I enjoyed taking care of the jams and various gifts. There's something for everyone!

Fantastic place for some donuts to stop (best cinnamon sugar donuts this side of the universe!!! and a hot coffee during our motorcycle stop. Your hot sandwiches are also pretty good. Have you ever had a Bisonburger? You got it here!

I usually do not feel compelled to go through the effort to leave a review, but if you have a burger and it is one of the best burgers you have ever had, then you have to make an exception. That means I recommend the Pimento cheese Bacon 1/2 lb Angus Burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had by far. Also the ever freshly updated Craft Beer menu never disappoints. Great experience! I feel happy to live in 5 miles from this beautiful institution.
