Avaliação da contribuiçãoI typically don't like to leave negative reviews, but I was very disappointed by this restaurant.
This charming little restaurant is the perfect spot for a meal. I ordered the lasagna Bolognese, which came with a choice of soup or salad, and it was absolutely delicious.
The pizza was okay, but not worth $25. I didn't experience the "wow" factor. The waiter's comments were unpleasant and the service was mediocre. It felt like I was bothering him by being there.
Yes, there are lots of brand new, shiny places to eat in Lloyd nowadays, but every now and then we go back to Ricky's. It'll always be one of our favourite places to go for a nice, relaxing, quality meal. Ricky's breakfasts are extraordinary, but their lunches and suppers are great too. My wife and I went a few days ago, and were served by Sydney, who is always so welcoming and friendly. She even remembered who we were, which is always nice! The restaurant was quiet when we went - it wasn't a peak hour. We ordered a starter of wings, and I got a plain bacon cheeseburger whilst my wife ordered fish & chips. The mains arrived shortly after we had started tucking in to the wings, which was a little unfortunate. Not Sydney's fault though. We raced to finish our wings before the mains got cold. (The wings were delicious, by the way)I always order a burger at Ricky's, because they are always phenomenal. Sydney even remembered to not put a pickle on my plate (I hate pickle juice touching my burger/fries). The burger was perfection. The patties are definitely home-made. Even with the new restaurants in town, I'd still say Ricky's burgers are among the best in Lloyd. My wife wasn't so raving excited about her fish 'n' chips, although it wasn't terrible, just a bit greasy. She said she'll order a burger next time, judging by my ever-enthusiastic response whenever I eat a Ricky's burger. Our only complaint with Ricky's has always been that once you've finished your meal the wait staff seem to forget about you, and it takes forever to get the bill. But not this time! Sydney was prompt, without being pushy. And I love the chocolate mints that come with the bill. We absolutely loved our visit there, and we are glad we went to Ricky's as opposed to one of the fancy new places. We must go again one of these days for breakfast, as I really miss their Belgian waffles! All in all, this was a flawless experience (minus the slight greasiness to the fish). Sydney's service was spot-on. Quick, friendly, cheerful, and got all our orders right - even my plain burger, which surprisingly many places mess up on. Our entire meal (two soft drinks, appetizer, and two entrees) came to just over $50, which we feel was great value. We never feel robbed when we go to Ricky's.Ricky's, thank you for being such a great addition to this city. I guess my final comment will be that we rarely get dessert these days, as the menu options are pretty lacking. You used to do an outstanding warm, chocolate brownie with ice-cream, that was to die for! Those mini cheesecakes in a jar that you now offer are okay, but they're very small and we never feel like it's worth the price. Ricky's is just opposite Sobeys, so if we feel like dessert we usually just head to Sobeys and get a full-size dessert for almost the same price. I just wish you still offered those brownies as they were amazing.
Not having eaten here before I thought I would have lunch at Ricky's.It was a nice place, and I had no trouble getting a booth. The beer was nice and icy cold and I ordered the 1/4 chicken and ribs combo. It came with fries with the skin on,coleslaw and peppercorn gravy. It was a huge order and I almost couldnt finish it,I didnt leave hungry thats for sure !!The sides were delicious, the coleslaw was maybe the best I have ever had.The chicken and ribs were cooked to perfection and tasted very good. The service was good and the young lady that waited on me was friendly.I would go back here again.
