Avaliação da contribuiçãoMost Indian restaurants in london limit in the rule the spiced that are used for people with low tolerance for spicy foods. the chefs here, however, have committed themselves to making authentic foods that are impeccable in the production of chicken liver fry. this dry dish is strongly flavored with spicy and has the correct amount of pfeffer powder. the meat is also soft, tender and well embellished in planks, green chili, garlic, curry leaves among others seasoned. it is a must try in this restaurant. the well-stored crispy malabar paratha can be enjoyed with enathi chicken curry made from cocos oil with tomato, finely chopped wobble and seasoned like sternanis, roasted fennel and garam masala. I love Indian food. in particular the norh indians and punjabi delikatessen, a taste that was both acquired by family dinners and a visit to rajasthan. but snud sad, I had less pleasant experiences with South Indian cuisine. ganapati should be my 2nd chance to delete my impressions and, although it is not next to the northern counterpart, it was redeemed. ganapati is located in a beautiful opposite of peckam, near 2 quiet gardens. the place is simple and evocatiw of a keralan village on the water, with simple wooden chairs and tables, under the view of a welcoming ganesh, the elefantengott. I can't create the names of what we ate, so I won't try. we had...more
Indian Summer. This might just might have nudged its way into being my new favourite local restaurant. Managed to get a late table in the very pleasant little outdoor courtyard at the back, towered over by monster bamboo. Extremely friendly service. Crab Thoran to start for me, accompanied by a yoghurt sauce. Fragrant and extremely moreish, so I didn't do as much swapping as I should have with bloke's Vegetarian Street Snacks, but then again they seemed to disappear quickly too. Was tempted by the Banana Leaf Thali but in the end went for the Nellu Chicken, which was a huge and very succulent free range chicken leg in a rich and aromatic sauce of black pepper, cardamon, onion and...read more
What a difference 24 hours can make. After a very disappointing night at a tourist Indonesian restaurant in Central London, we end up at a great little South India joint in Peckham. I've never been to Peckham before, well only on a Saturday night when Del Boy would find his way on to my teatime tele viewing. I was a young lad way back in the early 80's. To be honest I never contemplated going to Peckham, but after a recommendation to try Ganapati, we just had to go. So a venture south of the river was set up. As you walk into Ganapati you get a hit of the spices being used in the kitchen. It's a good one, and really did, just for a moment, transport me back to India. This was going to be...read more
We went to Ganapati after seeing the rating on UrbanSpoon with friends. We ordered one starter between us Prawn Peree this was very good and it got our hopes up for the main meal. Three of us decided to share our main meals while my wife being vegetarian settled for the Vegetarian Thali. All our three main courses had something missing The Lamb had a typical taste and smell that comes from not properly removing the fat before cooking it in Indian preparation. The Malabar Prawn was too bland and had big chunks of tomato which isn't normally the case with Malabar Prawn. The King Fish (can't remember the name exactly) had all the right flavours but the fish didn't feel very...read more
