Background music was good, decor was cozy and warm nice for a date. I had surfing, garnel were tasteless, steak was very chewing, so was my partner and we had 2 different meat cuts. I do not believe that the quality of food was good enough, especially in consideration of the situation and prices.
We met the chef jai parkinson when he worked at wright brothers, so we were thrilled to experience his new venture at orange elephant. we have booked via open table for a Monday evening and so came a 50% discount offer on the exchange boards. we started with the burrata, which was beautifully presented and came with some perfectly roasted cherry tomatoes on the wine vine. we had also prepared the cortex croquettes perfectly with an intense fleshy taste. for a main thing, we shared the Tomahawk board. the 1.2 kg share was plentiful for both of us, as it also split with a small salate and two small portions of fries. a beautiful bottle malbec was the perfect companion. the board was beautifully presented and the steak perfectly cooked to our warm red preference. we like a steak with some texture so that the tomahawk was a good choice. beautiful chewing gum, perfect seaman and great taste. ricardo had looked after us all night very well and made us a delicious coffee to finish a really wonderful culinary experience. We have a groupon deal (3 meals and cocktails for two) and had a nice evening. the place was busy and it was served by only 1 waiter. later a waitress and even the bartender joined him to keep with the tables. eating was moderate, and they served us toasts, who were burned black at the edges, also our rumpsteaks were burned at some places. the cocktails were definitely not the right cocktails: no matter what they ordered, it was served in a tiny margarita glass. the personal was nice and friendly and they tried to be as attentive as possible.
Small restaurant, nice decoration, open kitchen there are only a few options on the menu which usually indicates fresh ingredients and is always a good sign for me ! You can choose your steak from the blackboard based on weight price the steak was nice (we did not get the tomahawk steak as the minimum size was 1.4kg a bit too much for 2 people, we had fillet instead) I would definitely go back with a larger group and try the big steak !
