Was expecting our breakfast meal to blow us away but instead thought it was average. Food and drink took a long time to arrive and there were some minor things wrong with the dishes (Asking for no mushroom and it came with mushroom etc) Would still go back again, but wasn't amazed on this occasion.
Appreciate that it was day 2 of re-opening but the service was awful. We had to wait an hour for 4 full English breakfasts and coffee came up luke warm and very slow. Whilst the front of house staff were apologetic about the delays I was still charged full price and service charge. It needs to be sorted quickly before loyal customers vote with their feet. By the way the new layout looks excellent so hopefully it is just a teething problem !
With its iconic location Roast has been a favourite of mine. I've always had a good experience at Roast so I took a client there for breakfast the day after it reopened following refurbishment. Unfortunately it was very much a new restaurant experience, nothing worked well, slow service, poorly trained staff and very average food. I understand the restaurant has closed again to sort out some issues. I'm sure given time they will be back to their best and I will be going back
Beef Wellington was over cooked and not tender at all! Roast beef was okay. Best part of meal was scallops. Wry expensive for food quality. Very disappointed especially for the price we paid.
