Sancho's Tacos - Long Beach

On a recent visit, we ordered our food, which took a few minutes as usual. When our food was ready, it sat at the pick-up window for a while. The young girl working went back and forth a few times, and after about 5 minutes, I stepped up to collect our food. She handed it to me without saying a word. Unfortunately, the tortillas on my husband’s tacos were cold because a fan was blowing directly at the pick-up window. He said it was fine and would just eat them. As for me, I always order the Flaco Burrito with steak, but about a quarter of the way through, I realized I hadn’t seen or tasted any steak. So, I notified the young girl at the checkout. She offered to make me a new one, but I hesitated, wondering how long it would take. She told me about 5 minutes, but after waiting 10 minutes and then 15 with no sign of it, I finally asked her how much longer it would be since it had been 20 minutes instead of 5. She explained that other orders after mine needed to be filled first, but I reminded her that my order was incorrect and should take priority. She completely ignored my concern, walked over to the pick-up window, and stood there until finally, my burrito was ready. She placed it in a bag, handed it to me with a curt “Here,” and said, “You have a good night.” After this experience, we will NOT be returning, nor will we recommend this place to others.

During my visit, the customer service is good; an employee goes from the reception to the cook so often to find answers about vegan options. There are not many vegan options, and the Burrito I order (Flaco Lunch Burrito) with adjustment requests end up with cheese (which ends the most tasteful taste in the meal) in it. Otherwise I enjoy the burrito; the burrito is juicy with aromas of vegetables that break through with every bite, and the burrito remains well together. The substitute ingredient, extra beans, taste good (the Spanish rice is not a vegan option). I like the aromas of Burritos more so without salsa (also the spicy and spicy salsas): the Burrito alone is good. The interior is cool, but I remember sitting somewhere else under a TV (again the TV side with a variety of shows) because the ice cream at a corner seem to meet so many different smells from outside the foods near the open areas of the ice cream near the walkways (like the cigarette smell(s) I remember waiting for my food? not pleasant, me).

I ordered tacos and a surf-and-turf burrito. The burrito was good, but it was a bit overwhelming in flavor. Overall, the food was just okay. I probably wouldn't return to this place.

The tacos were really delicious, packed with a good amount of meat. We tried the Yard Bird and the O.G. (Tri Tip Steak), both of which were excellent. The half order of chips and queso was a generous portion and really tasty as well. My only issue was that despite placing our order, the only soda available was Diet Coke. However, the staff was accommodating and allowed us to substitute for a can of something else.

Best tacos ever!!! Wish I could get tacos like this at home.
