Avaliação da contribuiçãoTime for an update about our bffs in the blue window- they have made our Monday evening dinner for years, also through the pandemic!
We were looking for a lunch in the city of los alamos and have passed on the blue window bistro. great location for visiting the fuller lodge who do.
That is the way to restaurant in los alamos. crowded, people waiting in the line, highly recommended reservations. we sat on the terrace, beautiful evening.
I've eaten at this restaurant twice; once in August 2022, and recently, in October 2023. Both were unique experiences because during the Aug 22 visit, the restaurant was basically empty during the dinner hours and when I tried it in Oct 23 (around the same time of the day), the place was packed! Being from Las Vegas, NV, I try my best to be objective with my restaurant ratings/reviews because I've experienced some outstanding restaurants back home. Between both visits, I've tried the Crispy Calamari, Applewood Prawns, Chef's Salmon, and Harris Ranch Prime New York Strip. Out of all those choices, I really enjoyed the salmon the best. Apparently the salmon is prepared differently based on the night you visit and although I can't say how the salmon is prepared during other nights, on the night that I tried it, it was phenomenal (used a wood plank to cook the salmon). The mashed potatoes and broccolini were outstanding as well and paired with the salmon perfectly. The only complaint I have with my entrée is that I wish the salmon cut was slightly bigger almost felt like I was ordering off a kid's menu. The Applewood Prawns and Crispy Calamari were good and are great choices for appetizers. I mean, I've had better in my life, but I wouldn't ever disregard these options either. The New York Strip was slightly less than adequate; the cut definitely didn't have a good quality taste/texture as what I'm used to in Las Vegas. Also, someone in our group ordered the Chicken Marsala and I was shocked to see how much chicken was prepared with the entire entrée (contained only about 1.5 tiny pieces). The service was hit or miss. Like I mentioned earlier, during my Aug 22 visit, the restaurant was basically empty during the dinner hours and the service was very slow. My/our server rarely came around to see how our group was doing which was infuriating due to how empty the restaurant was. However, during my recent visit (Oct 23), the service was great...and this is even during the fact that majority of the tables were occupied. The price to quantity/quality ratio is reasonable; I can't determine any issues with the prices of their food and/or drinks. I'm not certain when my next visit to the area will be but if I'm ever in town, I'd be willing to try this restaurant again to see if my rating will change. Overall, this restaurant is just ok to me. Between adequate and less than adequate visits, I figured being right in the middle with my rating is respectable. If you've never tried this restaurant before, I'm still recommending it to you I believe in trying everything yourself, at least once. However, as of right now, I don't feel this restaurant is noteworthy of being highly recommended to everyone. But my opinion could change again down the road... Great meal, great service. We both had the filet mignon and it was delicious. Our server, Miguel, provided excellent service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
