She (not Todd English) came out and discussed our options. She was extremely courteous and our food was immediately prepared and served. She even made cocktail recommendations. The bartenders were really great. (Don't look bad) The furnishings are modern and chic. Beautiful crystal lights hang from the roof and create an elongate illusion. We also discovered Playmate of the year 08 and her popular male reality tv star friend at the bar. We were both roasted corn and Arugala salad. (Not on the menu) The salads were garnished with red and yellow tomatoes and plated with blows of an avocado cream and a jalapeno aioli. Very delicious. We also ordered a flatbread and the cook offered to make us one to both our taste. Ours was 1/2 Margherita and 1/2 sweet potato and black bean. Delicious. The combination of sweet potatoes in some mexican is delectable. My “date” ordered the Blackberry Wodka Collins and I asked for the bartender special, which was a refreshing vodka citrus release with grapes. Strong, but delish. Your drink was really good. I'm looking forward to having dinner there during normal restaurant hours. Staff and service were impeccable. We had a great dinner at the late night and Vorclub drinks. Great restaurant everywhere!
If I had paid for my meal instead of my friend, I would have checked Beso differently. As it was, a free meal means special good will to any restaurant! Here's what I have to say about Beso: The waitress was friendly..... the food was quickly brought out and beautifully presented.... the decor was nice when a bit on the sticky, Vegas side...... and the only mistake in otherwise excellent service was that so many small plates came out at the same time that they practically fall from the tiny table. Fellow Menuism users have already weighed on prices (over $10 for guacamole and chips? I mean, c'mon, the relatively uninspired dishes (all tasted good, but none of them was especially unforgettable, the attitude (not on the display, actually when I was there, etc.). So I'm not gonna bother going there. What I found amusing is that the restaurant should be a kind of hype-heavy celebrity hangout. Apart from a lonely paparazosculking around outside (the awakening of Eva Longoria, to appear, I guess, and a bumbed in a skin-tight dress with a breast so fake looking that there (they could be as a flotation device in the case of a water landing, there was not much to gawk. As others have observed, the restaurant was practically empty. Weird, in view of the alleged cache (who, as we all know, must have been made by a PR company, as nothing here would justify it. Given the opportunity and choice, I would rather go to El Cholo for really delicious, simple, unpretentious Mexican cuisine instead of shaking me to Beso.
Being that my boyfriend and I are both servers in restaurants, we are never rude guests or too picky when we dine out. But, this was absolutely unacceptable. I've never been this upset at a restaurant before, and being that it was my birthday dinner, only made me more upset. Very bad experience which ruined my birthday that I was so excited for. I wrote a note below explaining just the gist of the night. Much more had happened, but I am not given enough room to write.
We came in for our reservation a little early because we like to get vibe on a place before we sit at our table and that is where we met Matt. Matt was our bartender and he took excellent care of us and even stopped by our table later to check on us. The hostess treated us like VIP 's and gave us a beautiful booth in the middle of the dining room. Our servers were colorful and knew the menu really well which was very helpful because we like to eat and are not afraid to over indulge a bit. We started with guacamole, and then ordered the tacos, ceviche, and lobster quesadilla of which we ate every last bite. When dinner came we ordered the braised pork and a rib eye steak. Both were superb! The braised pork was so tender you could eat it with just a fork and the sweet potatoes. The steak was cooked perfect and seasoned to perfection. Of course we had dessert which was a fluffy and sugary churros and a fried banana ice cream plate ... it was unreal! Great experience, food, wine and cocktails!
The place had an unpleasant odor, food was mediocre. We ordered two different appetizers and they both had some squiggly topping, weird. Ordered a steak medium rare, it came out rare, we sent it back and came out slightly overdone and somewhat tasteless. Would never go back or recommend it.
