Avaliação da contribuiçãoReally subpar experience. Rough check in experience to start, which resulted in an “upgrade” to a room on the 11th floor that left a lot to be desired. Ripped vinyl, broken outlets, bubbled and damaged plastic film on bathroom window, and visibly dirty glass lampshades with some sort of sticky fluid on them. Pool area was dirty too, stepped on spilled French fries and other mystery foods as soon as we stepped off the elevator. Decor badly dated as well, which isn’t a problem but a surprise for the price. Parking, WiFi, and water are all expensive, too. Ended reservation 2 nights early. Won’t be back.
First off Hollywood is not what you expect. I’ve never in my life seen so many homeless people and I saw no one there to help them. We have stayed in the heart of Times Square, downtown New Orleans, downtown Baltimore, downtown DC I’ve never seen anything like it. There is human feces on the street. Of course not the W‘s fault but that is your surroundings at this location. Starting on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Monday there were no less than 300-400 people in the lobby (and lines of 20 somethings coming in both entrances all headed to the rooftop bar and pool which made the rooftop area in accessible to the paying hotel guests, this was all weekend day and night. There are four elevators and a service elevator. One was set aside for the party VIPs and at times sat empty while hotel guests and the rest of the partygoers had to wait in line for the other lifts. We waited to get on and off because when the doors opened there were so many people standing in the lobby, you couldn’t move. We had to call multiple times for room service because frankly there were some times when we were afraid to leave our room, there was one day where we could not get our room cleaned, there was constant weed smell starting early in the morning, and of course cars screeching out of the garage entrance until three or four in the morning. There is next to no police presence in Hollywood, I think they’ve given up. The W had no regard for their paying guests but catered to the 20 somethings. The W did get their views on Instagram though, people posted the fight that broke out at the rooftop party, a young man was cold cocked and fell into the pool, he would have drowned if others hadn’t helped him out. In retrospect, I wouldn’t stay on Hollywood Boulevard at all.
The W was a disappointment to us. The room was overlooking the entrance to their rooftop club and on the weekend days the noise, music and people talking made it impossible to rest until 2 am. The rooms are not sound proof at all to have a line of people waiting to get in right at your window. Being a bit of a party hotel, all the rooms next to us had lots of people drinking, I’m farting all the way into the middle of the night way past 1 AM. The room was also a disappointment, there was not even a coffee machine or classes or anything with excuse of COVID-19. There’s very little phone coverage and the Internet is pricey at $18 per day. And the parking is only valid for $54 a day. Are you kidding me? There are parking structures next door where you can park for $23 per night. Lastly, do not try to talk to anybody im reception after the party starts around 9 PM because you are yelling at each other through the music and the masks, that’s only the ones that wear masks because most of the people at this hotel or no wearing masks at all and is still a mandate in California. In summary, I would avoid this hotel completely.
Customer service and food was excellent. Ambiance was amazing. Definitely recommend.
Hotel Management and GM never followed up with me post my heirloom belt that was given to me by my mother who passed away a few years ago. They never resolved. However, Loraine and Florence Manager of Station always treats me like the Superstar that I am every time
