Dundee Tavern - Louisville

The service here is incredibly friendly! I've had some of the best Hot Browns ever! The Dundee Dip is fantastic! I will definitely return!

The ambiance is typically that of a sports bar. The wait staff were incredibly friendly, and the Mac n Cheese burger was tasty without being overly heavy. Be sure to try the sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dipping sauce!

One amenity that often goes underappreciated these days is the large covered patio designated for smokers. Since many in our group smoke or vape, the covered area was a real advantage, especially with the scattered showers that day. Overall, I would highly recommend Dundee Tavern to friends and family for any occasion, whether it's a first date, a casual get-together, or a large gathering of 20 or more for business or leisure. An added benefit is that the tavern shares its name with the road it’s located on, which is helpful for those who might struggle with directions. For sports fans, there are several TVs displaying different events, and on the day we visited, a Grand Prix race, a soccer game, and an ESPN channel were all showing. However, I did encounter one downside: the parking situation. We drove around the Tavern looking for convenient parking but had trouble finding any and ended up using the lot across the street at CVS. If you decide to do this, be aware that some spots are marked for CVS parking only and violators will be towed at their own expense, which is certainly something you want to avoid after a nice meal with friends.

I dislike giving average reviews, but I have to be honest. I loved the vibe and the location; it’s a really cool place. However, the service and food were just okay. It was a busy Friday, June 2nd, and I ordered the ribs, which were overcooked and tough, with too much sauce trying to mask it. After taking our order and delivering the food, our server was hardly present. I appreciate the hospitality shown towards our motorcycle group, but it felt like we were a lower priority since we were just visiting.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere resembles that of a classic neighborhood bar. Live music is offered on weekends, and trivia nights take place during the week. They also have a nice selection of draft beers. Food rating: 4/5.
