Perfect Indian food with a great view. Just a life-saver for vegans. Ask the waiter to talk to the chef, he is a very nice person and he will tell you about all the dishes that can be made vegan. Had a great time here.
Opposed to the former review, the waiter said that all vegetarian meals (except the first two on the vegetarian menu) can be made vegan with coconut milk instead of milk. That's 6 vegan course options. I took the Kai Korma and Urulai Broccoli with Saffron Rice and the Tanduri bread and both courses were exquisite! Really one of the best meal I ever had. Special Indian spices that tasted so good. Take notice that even the mild spicy option was quite spicy. The restaurant itself is situated right on the beach with the sound of the waves filling the room. Nice polite staff and even the chef himself came out to ask everyone how was their meal. It did take them a long time to get the meals ready (about an hour) like everywhere else on the island. But it was defiantly worth the wait. Highly recommended! Hebrew : .מומלץ מאד! אוכל הודי טבעוני מהמם ליד מלון סאבוי עם 6 מנות אפשריות. ויחסית זול יצא כ80 שקל לבן אדם כולל שתייה.
We asked for vegan dishes. The Chef came to our table, asked us for details and prepare special vegan dishes for us, which didn't appear on the menu! (the menu already had a few vegan dishes) Great service! Very tasty food! A great Indian restaurant!
Number one, this place is located right on an awesome beach, Beau Vallon, so that’s why I chose it. Admittedly, I also thought it was a safe bet because normally Indian food equals quite vegan friendly, but this place is a big exception to the rule. Their menu follows a really handy system where all menu items are marked with the allergens they contain. This also will alert you to the fact that only one of the vegetarian appetizers is dairy-free and zero vegetarian entrees are dairy-free. I asked our server if they could make something dairy-free and vegetarian. He pointed to one of the menu items and said they could make it without dairy. I said ok, and the server asked me how it was later. I said it was great. I mean, in reality it was just ok, but I feel odd saying so when I’ve asked for a special accommodation. Certainly I’ve had the experience before of asking for something specially made vegan and having it be ok but not great. But I’ve never had that experience at an Indian restaurant before, so it was pretty confusing. (Admittedly my Indian restaurant experiences are limited to only the places I've personally lived or visited, so take that for what it's worth! Still a good experience though because I came to the Seychelles for the beach. I did have much better food experiences in the Seychelles though- I found veg curry in the creole style of the Seychelles to be quite good. I also found that even if a restaurant doesn’t have it on the menu, they will offer to make it, if you ask about vegetarian options. Updated from previous review on 2019-03-11
