It was several times, the service is miraculous, slow and unfriendly to time. toilets and washrooms could be cleaner, much poor inside. not child-friendly. bad for larger groups.
We decided to visit my cousins restaurant and were very satisfied with the service and eating. it was a very warm atmosphere with very friendly staff.
This restaurant is located near the forest, where people walk and enjoy nature, they can have a beautiful meal or snack. they have a good selection of cakes and ice creams. this place is always packed with locals, but can still find comfortable sitting places.
We eat here often at the weekend. eating is good, the drink card is long, and the desserts are fantastic. but the service is almost not available. I don't think it's a thing of the server that aren't helpful that they were always...nice and polite, I think they're just understated. it is almost always busy when we go, and the server only help who yells at them the loudest. I was in the week and the service is much better when the mass is smaller. the food is worth it. try their mushroom to die!
If you like nature and happen to get to the Gonsenheim district of Mainz an area that still has retained the charm of a small German town in the country , consider a walk in the woods around the Vierzehn Nothelfer Kapelle (Fourteen...Holy Helpers chapel), on Kapellenstraße (a stop of streetcar No. or from downtown, going into the direction of Finthen). Once you spent some time wandering in this delightful wooded area, on your way back through Kapellenstraße, stop for a rest at this lovely café. Relax on the terrace (it has overhead heaters and blankets to cover your legs, during the cold season) and have a coffee or drink, or a light dinner. The selections on the menu are quite extensive for this type of café (we didn't try any, but just had refreshments), prices are reasonable. Sitting on the terrace, we enjoyed the look back to the woods. Service is attentive.
