"We have just enjoyed a fantastic family dinner at Cozinha d'El Rei - a great little find, no more than ten minutes' drive from the Praia d'el Rei resort and about 100 metres from the IP6 highway from Peniche.The staff were attentive and welcoming and the food - well, quite marvellous! Two of our party had some fabulous battered hake, which was truly melt-in-the-mouth; and I had pork escalopes in a cream and mushroom sauce with rice and black beans. Absolutely amazing! My son ordered a pizza that was so large we had to have the second half boxed up to take home. Portion sizes were quite insane. My advice is not to touch the bread and be VERY careful with starters because trust me - you will not go hungry with main courses only.I would also say that the drinks were much better value than most other restaurants in the area. A 50cl beer for €3.50 is a bargain by anyone's standards.All in all, we had a superb meal for four hungry people for €87 plus tip and we will certainly be back.One note I would mention is that whereas the TripAdvisor listing shows this restaurant in Caldas da Rainha, it is actually in Serra d'el Rei, more than 20km away. I have submitted a request to have that changed because it is obviously misleading."
