Avaliação da contribuiçãoBar located in downtown Mariposa, CA on the main street. The establishment has indoor and outdoor seating. The bar top itself has gold coins placed in it hence the name of the bar. Plenty of liquor selections as well as food. The staff was friendly.
The place itself (atmosphere/decoration) is nice. Why does it has to be turned into a sports bar ? A good country bar without TV but with more live music would fit better in those surroundings. The bar tender seemed over busy but had time to ID me for a beer at 2 pm. Their burger looked great but was disappointing. Nothing special. I didn 't like the buns (bland, not warm, not toasted, just out of the package). The meat didn 't taste charbroiled. I asked medium-rare and got it more well than rare. The blue cheese..I don 't know where it was from but it wasn 't tasty. Total for 1 beer and burger:16$. I was seating at the bar. I gave a 20$ bill and the bartender asked me if I actually wanted any change back... how rude.
I have to say, this was a very good decision to have lunch here. I took a motorcycle ride up and wanted a good lunch to go with the beautiful scenery. ..nailed it! Bacon cheeseburger with a beer, what a meeting of two flavors. The locals were very hospitable and a pleasant conversation ensued, with the topics of water usage, sports and logging, I was at home. I hope you stop by and enjoy this very friendly restaurant. Enjoy
After a long day at Yosemite, we checked in to our hotel around 8:30pm and asked the front desk staff where we could get some food and drink after 9pm (this being a town of 1,700 residents). They said alot of places stopped serving food at 9, but that Bett's served later. Double checked on Yelp that they were open until 11pm, so caught a shower and headed down. Arrived around 9:15pm and there were people sitting around the bar, so we grabbed some stools. The bartender asked if we were eating or just drinking, and we said eating so she told us that she wanted us to get our good order in as soon as possible because the kitchen was trying to shut down. We got our order in with no problem, but a steady stream of people came in after us with the same issue and around 9:45pm she finally started turning people away. I guess the cooks get paid hourly so the additional income generated by these customers didn't help them any. I know the bartender was frustrated by the situation. She said that when it is quiet, even in the high tourist season, the kitchen tries to close early, so be aware of that if you go later on a weeknight. We ordered a couple of burgers, which were good. They are confident enough to suggest the burgers be cooked to medium rare, and they were done well to that temperature. The nachos appetizer came out at the same time as the burgers, warm (not hot) and soggy. Because she was responsible for all of the food and drinks, things came out slowly. This place could have easily gotten a higher rating but for the kitchen staff who obviously just wanted to go home.
Poor service. Slow food preparation. Servers are nice, but seem very disorganized. Food was okay, maybe because we were really hungry. Chicken Alfredo was good. Chicken soft and tasty, pasta buttery and creamy. The onion soup was lukewarm and extremely salty do not recommend this. Taco salad was okay.
