Vandys Lakeside Pub - Markesan

This place is amazing! We visited for our club’s snowmobile race, and everyone at the bar was incredibly friendly and accommodating. During our lunch break, a group of 20 families all came in to place orders at once, but they had an excellent system in place for taking and delivering orders. The food was delicious, and considering the number of orders they were handling, the wait time was quite reasonable. I can’t wait to return soon!

The restaurant features a brand new, modern interior that is quite impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making for a wonderful dining experience. Our service was quick and welcoming. We tried the spinach dip appetizer and the AP burger, both of which were exceptionally fresh. The burger, in particular, was one of the best we've had in a long time — juicy and generously sized! I also highly recommend trying their Berry Brandy Old Fashioned; it’s a must! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place!

For our main course, my wife and I both ordered the AP burgers. We opted to add pickles, and overall, it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly cooked, and quite large. I ordered fries on the side which were crispy without being overcooked. My wife chose the tater tots, which were also perfectly crispy without any greasiness or burnt bits. The service was friendly, and we would definitely return!

It’s really hit or miss. Burgers are either really good, or dry and not much on them. They either give barely any fries, or the right amount. They seem to have trouble keeping water cups filled as well. There was only one other table of two people there, and we waited almost half an hour after we were done eating before they brought us our bill I get that they have a staff shortage but still, kind of ridiculous.

Food was good. The waitress was slow for there only being one other table of 2 people. We waited 30 mins after being done for her to notice us and give us the bill. Didn’t leave a tip because that was awful service. If you dine and dash, this is a good place to eat. Otherwise, eat somewhere else.
