51 Fifty One - McGregor

What a charming place, recommended by a local! You wouldn’t expect the hidden garden at the back just by looking from the main road. Our son Liam quickly spotted the back door that leads to a stunning vegetable garden. The food is high quality, the locals come here to relax, and the coffee is fantastic.

What a fantastic find in the town of McGregor! We had such a unique experience, even though we could only make it for breakfast on a Sunday. Upon arrival, we were greeted by beautifully baked sourdough breads. The breakfast menu offered a selection of unique options. I requested a customized breakfast, and the kitchen and staff were more than accommodating. It turned out to be one of the best breakfast experiences I've ever had. The staff were wonderful—attentive and always ready to help. Be sure to pay a visit! I've since learned that there's a lovely garden outside to explore as well. Highly recommended!

I had a delightful breakfast featuring incredibly flavorful mushrooms and fresh pesto. I was pleased to learn that the croissants were homemade. Although ours were a bit burnt, they were still delicious. The baguette, cheese, and marmalade were absolutely tasty as well. The owners were friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. The beautiful garden in the back added to the charm of the place.

In planning our trip to McGregor, this was the first place we saved because of all the positive reviews, and now I’m adding mine to the hype as well. I don’t think they have a set menu, rather a couple of items available on that day only so I suspect no return visit will ever be the same. Although I craved a traditional breakfast, what I got was infinitely better. The list of ingredients is more than I can remember but the flavours compliment each other beautifully. Sitting outside in the garden, you can’t be blamed for wondering if it can get any better than that.
