Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe owner, whose name is Sam, was a super nice guy and when my family arrived at 9:30 PM after a full day of silverwood he was very welcoming. The lodging is definitely out of the ordinary but I think it added to the experience. There’s not really a “front desk” but Sam helps you out when you get there. The rooms are simple which is very nice to see. Showers had phenomenal water pressure and it was overall a very pleasant experience. The people writing angry reviews about the hotels or about the owner either have no patients, or no social skills because not only was Sam a very friendly and welcoming owner, he runs a very nice hotel with excellent rooms. (Also the rooms were about $150 a night which was at least $200 less than anything remotely close)
We stayed here in our RV about a month ago. It was amazing. Beautiful location. The gentleman running the place was very nice.We will definitely return here!
We used the snow tubing hill only. I was initially turned off due to when calling to inquire about a certain time frame that specified to call if you wanted, I was told in a not so friendly way that I could only reserve that timeframe if I rented the whole hill for $490. Would have been more helpful to list that on the website rather than to feel like a bother when I called to inquire as instructed on the site. When we arrived I wasn’t 100% sure where to go to check in, but we found it. Everyone in the party must go in to checkin but once we were checked in and headed to the sled hill, we had a blast. I do see comments/reviews complaining about the boys/ workers on the hill. To me, they made the experience even more fun. They were personable, we’re doing a little trivia (who sings this song? and asking questions about where we were from etc. I liked them and the music was noticeable but I enjoyed that as well. I think without it it could have been a little boring/awkward. We had a great time on the slope however I do wish they had at least 1 more attendant to man the hill as there was a group of young girls who would wait for people to clear the bottom before heading down and not only did they hit and hurt others, they were getting hurt themselves. I made sure not to go down just before them, but someone noticing that and having them pause just a little longer would have been cool.
DO NOT RECOMMEND for a number of reasons. 1) terrible customer service. I could list many complaints about how my family was treated during our couple of hours there but the biggest was that there were 3 young men running the actual sled hill and their behavior was appalling. One of the young men was blasting music on his iPhone so loud we would hardly hear each other speaking as we were waiting in line for tube runs. The music was rap/metal that was full of terrible language.....many F words! With kids everywhere!!!!! It was so inappropriate and really took away from the fun of a winter outing! The men were also having snow ball fights with each other over top of the heads of paying customers. It was very inappropriate and annoying. 2) not great tubes: turns out there are two kinds of tubes-ones with hard bottoms that are considered fast and one with soft bottoms. There are about 5 good tubes and the rest are slow. So slow they don 't even make it 3/4 of the way down the hill. The hill could have been so much more fun if all the tubes would have made it the entire way down. They don 't rotate tubes so get there very early in your time slot to get a good one. Do I think you should have to get there early to get a decent tube...no, but that 's the situation. 3) the owner is very rude and unhelpful. The lodge is gross and does not seem to be upkept. Please don 't waste your money here.
Snow tubing was fun but I will never go back. At check in we had a large group with a bunch of little kids. We were told to put our wrists out hand up to be marked that we paid. My 7 year old nephew put his hand out palm down. The owner said, “You know what, I will mark that.” He drew a big red X on the back of his hand, then said, “That let’s everyone that works here know that you don’t listen.” Must have felt good humiliating a small child. The rest of the check in continued with the same rudeness. I have never written a review for anywhere else I’ve been, but I have never had a business owner treat customers as poorly as we were treated. We were not the only group that felt that way either.
