We visited Meaux over Christmas and found very few restaurants open, especially on the Sunday. We tried Maitre Kanter as the food sounded interesting. Unfortunately the food was dire and expensive. The burger pattie was very dry and under seasoned, the salmon was over cooked and the batter on the fish was thick and soggy. We didn't bother looking at the desserts. The only redeeming feature was the friendly and helpful waitress and the OK wine. Avoid this restaurant.
This is a full-service version of the Maitre Kanter chain and an excellent one at that. A Friendly staff, great food, a fully stocked bar, and a convenient location make this restaurant a must-visit place, especially if you are in Meaux to visit the relatively new World-War-One museum. The service was fast and they accept USA credit cards.
I found apiece of plastic in my hamburger. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he mumbled that he didn't speak English. This attitude is unacceptable and the least that can be expected is an apology or a discount on the bill but none were offered. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Family restaurant with a lot of different plates, both traditional French cuisine and Alsace specialties. Wine list is corresponding, with wines from various regions in France. Prices are moderate. Excellent place for families, but quiet tables at hand as well. Not really haute cuisine, but nevertheless very, very nice.
