Avaliação da contribuiçãoI had never heard of Clare Castle pub until yesterday when some coworkers and I decided to try it for lunch. They offer some incredible specials, such as the $23 Eye Fillet Fridays, which I chose to avoid overeating. The steak was cooked perfectly medium well, and the vegetables were delicious. The mushroom sauce was so good I wanted to bathe in it! The only downside for me was paying $3.80 for soda water, which I found a bit disappointing considering it came from a drinks gun behind the bar. However, if you do drink alcohol, they have a great selection of beverages available. Overall, I would recommend Clare Castle for a great dining experience.
This was our favourite local gastro pub and we have always had great service and food. We dined this evening, we asked for extra mustards and horseradish, which we have done many times before. The bill came, and added to the bill was extra for...what mustards and horseradish that we asked for, unbeknownst to us. for each condiment is ridiculous. We would have made a decision, were we told. There are many great pubs in Port. You need to inform your punters if you’re going to charge them, that’s poor form not to. We are trying to give back to the local community, but that just felt wrong.
This is a real gem of a pub. It has a classy side and a great pub' side. The menu is sensational with a real good mix of cuisines and all the signs displayed on the exterior, the ton Bay Bug is used a lot....The bugs are brought in fresh every day too which is amazing to hear. The service is brilliant, friendly and professional. The owner who we met is passionate about the place and genuinely friendly, courteous and wanting to make sure your experience is to enjoy oneself. Overall an awesome pub and would most definitely come back.
This is a great pub for few different reasons. It caters very well to the locals, has a great outdoor area that captures the evening sun, a pretty unique Wine Style room that has a open fire and Chesterfields (Made me want to light a...cigar) and the food, although a little on the expensive side for a pasta dish) is amazing. They have done a truely wonderful job of making this a comfortable local pub. The staff are generally great (There is one grumpy member who make you feel like she would rather be elsewhere). I highly recommend the steaks (Eye Fillet Rib Eye but the whole menu won't disappoint.
Great food and service, steak and bugs a standout. Great menu and wine list and very cold tap beer. We all loved it and will be regulars.
