Toni's Courtyard Cafe - Merced

I visited this restaurant for the first time and the service was excellent! The food was decent, but the coffee was a bit harsh, as if it had been sitting in the pot all morning. The food came out quickly, which was great, but the flavors were lacking. I usually prefer crispy bacon, but the bacon I received was not crispy. The home fries seemed to be overly greasy and the pancakes tasted like they had too much water added to the batter. Hopefully it was just an off day and I will give them another try.

I had a fantastic breakfast at this restaurant. The eggs, beans, and hash browns were all cooked perfectly. The coffee was a bit sour and needed a lot of sugar or cream. The staff was excellent, very helpful, and friendly.

I'm editing my original review two years ago. I left a 5-star rating, but now I give these 2 stars! When Toni owned this café, it was AMAZING! I never had a problem regarding the staff or they were able to emphasize my needs. This morning I went in alone while my partner brought our SMALL dog to the side. I asked for a table outside on the terrace and we got a table and served coffee. My question concerns: 1. The service was only to get coffee so SLOW! The server brought coffee with creamer that we asked, but no spoons or serviceware at all! How did she expect us to move into the creamer? 2. You had just changed the menu for lunch. Well, we rolled with him how we wanted orignially breakfast, but were on something big to eat. The problem is if I asked the server if we could get 1 egg cubes for our dog. (This was never a problem before) She had to ask back. It cost FOREVER just to tell us that they have taken everything away for breakfast! A EGG! I watched how her staff went in and out of her GIANT FRIDGE when I was finished waiting and NO ONE could grab an egg from the refrigerator and season it? Seriously? Yeah, Toni's Courtyard Cafe... You don't get my money anymore. And I can tell you that I will make sure you don't get the money of my friends and family anymore. To appreciate that you have tried to announce me and my dog and EGG! How hard is it to get an egg out of the refrigerator and crush it? Isn't that what the COOKS are PAID to do???? Thank you, but no thanks!

This hidden gem is situated in a pristine parking lot. The atmosphere inside is calm and chic, while outside on the covered terrace it is open and inviting. The terrace features a small waterfall on the back wall and charming string lighting for a relaxing vibe. The seat cushions are incredibly comfortable, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! The presentation was spot on as well. The excellent service provided only added to our pleasant experience. We were thoroughly satisfied and will definitely be returning.

Had the specials, chorizo and jalapeno breakfast burrito and banana nut cinnamon bread pancakes and was very happy with our food. Had great flavor, wasn't overly sweet the burrito was just slightly spicy with lots of flavor. Service was pretty quick even when busy and the food came out hot too. The outdoor courtyard is very nice and relaxing, well shaded with fans to circulate the air with a breeze. One of our favorite breakfast brunch spots in Merced.
