I remember the old pizza man at north ave. seems like the menu on the trendy side has become a little more. is more of a classic family style Italian menu. a pizza with artichokes and green olives. it was good, but it had an orange sauce over the top I felt was exaggerated. the food took forever the auberginen fries and the cheese cures were a bit cold and my Sunday ragu pasta curly was also a bit cold when I got it. I have a feeling, there is no help available now, but still that was quite disappointing on 17 dollars a teller. the original pizza man was a great place for a first date and I still think it is. I just need help in the kitchen and the waiting staff.
I think they were very understaffed when we were there, so I feel for the workers.. but it took a long time to get our food. And the pizza was very meh.
I've just ordered takeout here. First time, I was disappointed. Second time, I was really disappointed. There will not be a third time. My pizza was undercooked, poorly prepared and didn't taste great. The crust is interesting in that it is really flaky and does not have the normal consistency of a thin crust. Tastes pretty bland in my opinion. There are a lot of better pizza places in Milwaukee. Cool location though.
SO disappointed in the recent changes in your pizza . We’ve been fans/patrons of the restaurant since the 80’s. Not sure why you would chose to change something that was working so well, for so long! The deep dish is nothing like the original. It used to take 45 minutes to bake, and when we recently ordered it for pickup, it was ready in 20 minutes. It wasn’t bad, but very different from the original. It was much more prefab. And when we ordered the pan pizza that we had been getting for the past few years, that changed as well. The new version has a wheat crust. I don’t mind wheat bread, but not so much for pizza crust . Unfortunately, we won’t be customers any longer.
Oof...the pizza crust was like crispy, oily, pita crackers. Not sure if I got a gluten free crust. I didn't order one, but I have family members who are gluten free so I've partaken in a gf crust or two in my life. Gluten free or not, the crust ruined the pizza. The cheese in the curds was good, but a bit too greasy on the breading side of things. My daughter liked the spaghetti and meatball. Cheesecake was tasty. Wish I would have read recent reviews before ordering. While many reviews mentioned staff treatment, that has nothing to do with my review. The food was just not good.
