Since changing ownership this restaurant has gone into a complete tailspin. We always used to get Gustos all the time since it's down the street, tasted great, and was priced fairly well. The past 6 months since ownership change I've given them 3 chances. First time was on slices I didn't know of the ownership change however, it was obvious when I walked in the door and there was about 2 pies out when previously the countered was covered with 10-15 delicious looking options. Okay, so figured maybe we'll try their dinners. Even worse you can tell the ingredients don't hold the quality they previously did and the food didn't seem completely cooked all the way through. Sadly the business needs to hire a new cook or management needs to change how they run things or this business will not survive.
The pizza is some of the best I've had in the area. My one complaint is that they put way too much flour on the bottom of the pizza like when they put it on the peel to slide it in. When I take a bite of the pizza I get a mouth full of flour. I ordered pizza there three times and it happens on all of them. If they could just get that down or maybe use semolina, I would give the place 5 stars.
Food was cold and terrible. I give it a NEGATIVE 5 star review!
I normally wouldn’t write a bad review of a restaurant, but I think it is necessary this time. I used to work here when it was under different ownership. The previous owner was always very professional with customers and kept up on various tasks to keep the restaurant clean. The food also used to be amazing and I would eat there all the time. I went in today with two other girls who used to work there and we were astonished with the condition this restaurant is in. We walked in to see the new owner playing a computer game at the waitress station and did not pay any attention to his customers. My fountain coke had floating black “stuff” in it meaning the machine had not been cleaned in a very long time. Hopefully that bacteria floating in my drink doesn’t make me sick. With our wings that we ordered, I said I did not want any ranch or blue cheese, but instead all three of us were given one side of both ranch and blue cheese each…which we were charged 3 dollars for on our bill without warning. I ordered eggplant parm with vodka sauce and was charged an extra 3 dollars for the vodka sauce, again, without warning. There was one singular pizza pie on the pizza counter compared to a dozen when I used to work there. I was so disappointed with the food and how unprofessional the staff and owner was. They seemed to try and get as much money out of us as they could. On that note, I will not be coming back to this restaurant. I recommend Anthony Francos a few miles down the road if you’re looking for good Italian food. :
