Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe were meeting up with some friends who stayed on a camping in the same region (drôme) and as usual ;) they were running late... holiday time... the kids had to use the bathroom so we installed ourselves on the terras for a drink. Going inside to look for the bathroom, the inside of the bar was very original (I really like this style). The staff was very friendly and after our visit to the village with our friends we ended the visit with another drink here. It's a bit alternative, but you feel right at ease!
OMG...this was a bad experience! We waited over 1 hour for our food to arrive. I ordered Raviole au Gratin. The ravioli was dried up & was swimming in oil. The poor waitress was very apologetic & polite & explained that it was only her & her colleague in the kitchen who were on duty on a very busy Sunday. The owner had not pitched up!!
Located in the lovely village of Mirmande, Café Bert serves up a real surprise. An open mind is a prerequisite when you sit down for dinner here, this place is not for those who expect run-of-the-mill tourist fare. Our French isn't great so we didn't quite understand the explanation of Café Bert's "concept", but hey we went along with it anyway...like I said, open mind required. The menu said something about 'consommée froids' but I just thought that was some kind of soup. When my friend asked whether they could do some chips on the side for the kids, the nice girl said that wouldn't be possible because they don't have any cooking staff, let alone a kitchen. Although this struck us as odd, the penny still didn't drop. The penny dropped when our starter and main dish were served...cold! Everything was cold, prepared in the morning, served in plastic containers on wooden trays in the evening. It all made for a great experience, as we were trying to figure out was going to happen, the anticipation, which you don't normally get at restaurants. Thankfully, it was all topped off by great-tasting food. In the end, it's all about pleasing those taste buds, and the food at Café Bert was simply very tasty...can't fault it.
After a labyrinth walk in the heart of the village Mirmande, to the highest point (church), which I can only recommend, it was time to find a small restaurant to sun in the early afternoon. We followed our instinct and found Café Bert with a super nice team, funny furniture and small homemade dishes. Whether the small olives, the dishes of the day, or only the aperitif, everything is very good and at a reasonable price. It is nice to see that in some small tourist sites where there is hardly any competition, the possibility is still taken to be friendly and friendly to the customer. Bravo, nous reviendrons, bonne chance!
The pizza dough is organic, so the tomatoes for the tomato sauce, and the taste from the long rising time is simply amazing. So if you're looking for a very good pizza, here's the place. We ate on the terrace as Mirmande... is free from cars from mid-July to mid-August for the Art-pentez Fair. The waitresses are nice, friendly and efficient, although it helped us arrive before the crowd.
