I ordered aubergine curry. It was not cooked . The onion was rock hard. This is not what you expect from a curry house

We booked a table for 2 at 7 p.m and the restaurant was quite busy although we were seated very quickly and order taken for food and drinks The wait for food was quite long which left us a bit frustrated especially as we saw starters and mains coming out for other tables We ordered the tandoori chicken and tandoori mixed grill which I must say was fantastic! The sauce served on the side added so much to the enjoyment of the meal! Unfortunately though there was again a long wait for anyone to come clear the plates and then to provide the bill which slightly tainted the whole experience

Asked for a table for 1…was shown to a table .Waiter came said go straight to the food ?? Didn’t ask if I wanted starters etc.Ordered chicken tikka madras /special rice before I could say any more …he said that’s enough .so I then ordered a Nan after he finished.I looked at drinks menu and asked for a cobra .he said only draught lager so ordered that .Then looked around restaurant to see bottles of kingfisher etc on tables .Another waiter passed and I said can I have a bottle cobra which he said only got kingfisher bottles . The food was ok nothing special .When I went to counter to pay there were fridges full of cobra /kingfisher etc . So questioned the 2 waiters in front of the guy behind bar and they said sorry . Be aware they out to sell what they can get more profit on and felt conned by their dishonest .Won’t be eating here again .Never experienced deceit like it in an Indian restaurant in 40 yrs .

I love the Indian Empire, all the staff are lovely. I have been multiple times and they never disappoint! The food is amazing!

Food is very nice and staff okay but they do like to play a little trick with the tip this unhappy looking chap appears perhaps owner or manager at the end of the meal. He asks if you really liked the meal so you say yes thank you very much and this unhappy looking chap produces a handheld device with built in tip generator machine for really good service you must now press this and it adds 25% clever little trick, they also push drinks I was asked if I wanted another lager over six times. Next time I went in I was driving so asked for tap water numerous times and finally given a very small glass of Luke warm water and refused anymore as I had a glass already. I paid in cash and I gave a £5 tip on a £25 meal the same unhappy bloke made some comment and took the chocolate after eight out of my hand and walked off. Nice meal but keep your wits about you, Best advice just get a takeaway that why they can’t try it on.
