I was there with my wife for my birthday. Warm welcome from the staff, friendly staff, they speak English, but I don't remember if they have English menu or not. Very good decoration, very tasty food, but I think it was a bit expensive, but it is a seafood right?!
We were there 7 persons, we all order at the same time. 8 min later the waiter comes out, sorry the option 3 of you selected is not available (lobster pizza) would you like something else? Of course was a complain because you think what you order is what you are going to have!, 5 min later other staff memeber aproches to the table to a diferent person, sorry but what you order was very popular in the morning and we do not have it anymore (octopus tacos) what? and just now they realized it! They perfectly knew it 5 min ago when they told the others there option was not available!. We were all hungry and when the food arrived was bad, not even looked good, the only 2 items were good were a pasta with lobster and shrimp and a meat hamburger (that was available from the beginining even when it was not in the menu). I will not go back soon!
Red Lobster entered the Monterrey market with its first location in the Nuevo Sur shopping center. If you are a fan of Red Lobster in the U.S., then you won't be disappointed with this one. The restaurant has an ample dining room as well as a nice outdoor seating area. With afternoon shade, its a nice place yo enjoy a meal and people-watch. The menu is basically the same as the US and prices are reasonable. I've been there twice in the last couple of months for Sunday lunch. The service has been first class and the food is tasty and well-prepared. As is customary with RL, the cheddar bay cheese biscuits are complimentary and apparently unlimited. Some entrees come with salad. I found the Caesar salad to be just right. We've tried various fish and shrimp dishes including some with pasta. All have been very good. As an American I particularly appreciate the unsweetened iced tea with free refills. The servers have been extremely polite and helpful and on each of my visits the manager has stopped by my table to ask if everything was satisfactory. Good food, fair prices, great attention to the customer. What's not to like?
The service and the quality of the food were better than our USA experiences with Red Lobster, but at the end of the day, this is still a big chain restaurant serving relatively bland and homogenized food. While not inexpensive, the cost is not bad given the general cost of dining in the Monterrey area for any table service restaurant. The staff was very polite. There are a lot of seafood choices. The ambiance is....well.... international restaurant decor . The restaurant is not visible from Av. Revolucion, it is set back from the street on the upper level of the retail podium. There is plenty of parking, both surface and underneath the podium. This is a large mixed-use project, the first of its kind in greater Monterrey, and an attempt to introduce a new city into the marketplace, as there are commercial offices and residential apartments here as well as a grocery store, a multiplex cinema, an office supplies store, an electronics store and many other restaurants (mostly international brands).
