Avaliação da contribuiçãoAviator Bar was a nice place to sit at the bar on a Friday night and chat with the locals. Its location is proximate to many downtown hotels. It attracts an eclectic crowd and broad age range. The bartender was very professional, personable, and attentive, and patrons seemed pleased with the drinks she made; I was drinking beer. Many patrons were drinking cocktails and taking shots; most drinks were served in plastic cups, which is a troubling lower class indicator, despite the bar's downtown location and polished exterior presentation. The decor is primarily WWII era aviation, including countless airplane models hanging from the ceiling, but the theme does get a bit muddled, as some displayed models appear to be contemporary Boeing jets. They had sports playing on the televisions around the bar, but the ones directly over the bar were placed much too high to be viewed comfortably by those seated at the bar. Drink prices are quite inexpensive, but they inexplicably charge a nominal cover $5), which I assume is there solely to anger the patrons before they've even had their first drink. My wish for the people of Montgomery is that they discontinue tolerating cover charges for bars with nothing going on, but if they do continue to tolerate inexcusable cover charges in this market, you could do much worse than Aviator Bar.
Don’t waste your time here. I literally live upstairs and can’t get good service here. There are too many bars in Montgomery to waste your time or money here. Can’t get service and when you do it’s subpar. I’ll take my money and time elsewhere. Too bad that the Owner Mike doesn’t train his employees to respect the locals who could come anytime. Waste of your time!!!
We decided to visit Aviator after dinner on a Friday night. I was surprised that there was a cover charge, considering the place was quiet with no live music. I would expect a cover charge at a dance club on a Friday night, but not at a more laid-back place like Aviator. It was also disappointing that Alley Bar, which is connected to Aviator, was closed for a private event that night. The bar had a great concept and the decorations were impressive. My husband and I enjoyed exploring and admiring all the memorabilia. Despite some negative reviews, we were served promptly by the bartender, although the bar was not very crowded. We ordered some beer, which was decent. However, I didn't like drinking out of a plastic cup. I would consider returning to Aviator, but probably not on a weekend night. It's a nice spot to relax with friends and enjoy a drink.
The bar is fantastic! It's always a great spot to socialize. There aren't many options open in Montgomery, Alabama, but this place is a safe and welcoming choice to grab a drink after dinner.
I was not expecting it to be so busy, but with a 4-day weekend, it attracted a lot of people, including the air force. The bartenders were friendly, the drinks were affordable, and the decor is what really sets this place apart. I can definitely say it was worth it.
