Bar Central - Montmarault

All positive reviews are right: The croque Monsieur with local Bezenard cheese is delicious, the owner and the staff charming and funny, and they welcome you with a smile even if you show up at 2 o'clock for lunch. If you drive on the A71, you will definitely leave the motorway for a lunch or coffee break in Bar Central!

We stopped here by chance on our journey from the south of France. The service was friendly and the Croque Monsieur was excellent. They were made with local products, the ham was thick and really delicious. I also tried the local rose wine that was very good. When you leave the highway, there is a supermarket where you can buy fuel (good price) and a little further along you come to the center ville, where there are a few shops and restaurants. The coffee was also very good. The menu was quite limited, but there was a set menu and a number of other dishes. Do not worry about other places, you will not be disappointed. Thank you.

In our way we wanted to avoid the big chain restaurants near the peage. Stopped at Bar Central and ordered a cup of coffee and croque monsieur. Both were very good, service was friendly, unfrontunately we hadn't the time for a hot meal. Would have been OK and not expensive, not to mention the broad range of local and Belgium beers.
