This is your classic diner, with a Eastern European bent, but the brunch classics are still there.I'm a sucker for eggs benedict, so when i saw that, i bit. I'll be frank, it wasn't the best I've ever had, and it wasn't the worst. My son ordered the omelette and he thought it a bit dry. In the end, it was okay, but not much better than that. I'd not be jumping through hoops to go there, and service was, at best, inattentive, and a bit lackadaisical. But that met the expectations of the place. If you're in the neighbourhood, there may be better places to eat (we ate at Marche La Pantry just down the street, and while not diner food, was quite good), but if you're craving the typical eggs brunch, it's fine.
Charming deli/diner in the increasingly lively Saint Henri, serving Polish and Jewish specialties. Weekends come with a pretty eclectic eggs Benedict menu, gussied up with everything you'd expect from this kind of cuisine. Also an extensive breakfast menu, which features kielbasa sausage as the star attraction. It's especially good on scrambled eggs with smokey paprika fried potatoes. This is no kosher place, mind you, so be prepared for some local off-the-wall flavour. They offer a latke dish either the traditional way or the Montreal way: latke, cheese curds and gravy. Yup, latke poutine! Add smoked meat to make it totally amazing, but still very cheap. Good milk shakes, decent coffee, super-friendly service and a good number of local kids accommodated. Highly recommend for a lazy eastern-European influenced brunch.
you. The latka poutine was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of cheese and gravy. The verenekas were soft and pillowy, filled with delicious potato and cheese. I can't wait to come back for more!
Having been to Deli Sokolow twice now, I find it difficult to put into words how I truly feel about this restaurant.
The charming waitress will recommend the best dishes of the day, there is no pressure to leave quickly, and the deli-style breakfast is available all day at a great value.
