Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe waited and waited to give our order, which eventually after others who came after us had ordered, someone finally came to the table. Then we waited, and waited and waited to not get the drinks we ordered let alone any food. After complaining that we hadn't received drinks we finally received them after having to re-order, and then after waiting and waiting again we had to ask what happened to our food order. Other tables were also complaining. The food, when it finally came after an hour or so of waiting, was not very good. Definitely would never go back to this restaurant. The waiters were inexperienced and had been left to fend as best they could with absolutely no direction, or training it would seem, and the kitchen was obviously totally inefficient and disorganised. The food was mostly bland or just simply not good.
I've been to Shiraaz twice now. The first time I had the Chicken Rendang which was tremendous. The spices tasted very fresh and it was the best chicken/Indian dish I've had in a long time from anywhere. The second time I tried the Beef Vindaloo, again the spice mix was fresh and delicious. I personally like my vindaloo very hot, and it didn't quite meet my desire for heat, however I understand that not everyone likes their Vindaloo as spicy as I do. I highly recommend dropping in to try the Chicken Rendang if you are in the Castlemaine area and have a hankering for some fine Indian cuisine!
Before I go on I must say that the food is really great but Shiraaz lacks proper communication. We (a family of three) went there to get takeaway. We ordered three curries along with some sides but on the first docket there was only two. We waited in the restaurant and paid for the third curry. We live in a town 20 minutes away from Castlemaine. When we got home we discovered that one of the curries was missing. This was very frustrating because we didn't want to have to drive 40 minutes in order to get one missing curry. When we called the restaurant to complain. It was difficult for them to understand why we were upset by this. They finally said that they would get someone to drive and bring it to us.
Lovely meal was had at Shiraaz when meeting up with our friends. great flavours, fresh foods, good value food & wines not too expensive. Recommend for dinner anytime
This small country restaurant provides great service, high quality authentic Indian food, in an attractive, quiet space. The food is reasonably priced & comes attractively served. The staff a friendly without being intrusive.Alcoholic beverages are limited but adequate. Cider & ginger beer are not available but would improve the range of choices.
