El Rancherito Mexican Restaurant

This restaurant is so convenient from the interstate, it is a regular stop on our annual pilgrimage thru southern illinois. we meet friends for lunch.

Online order. eta is 10 minutes. it was 45. friends had the same problem last night. management is not apologetic and are certainly favored.

At the end of the night we came out of the state. service was a little rude, but we came in 30 minutes before closing, so it was a little to be.

Good food and good service. In addition to an extensive menu, they also have a buffet.

Food and decor are very good. We were worried. The UrbanSpoon rating was only 78%. But we were hungry and are long Mexican food fans. I'm so glad we stopped. The decorations are bright and colourful. The service is very attentive, and the food? I had the Taquitos mexicanos and my wife chose a chimichanga (here Favorit). Watch the sauce that comes with the taquitos when you're a gringo like me. It brought tears to my eyes. I gave her the sauce and enjoyed the rest. She liked her chimichanga even more than a restaraunt near our house in Michigan. If our travel plans take us back through Mount Vernon, Illinois, then El Rancherito will be on our list for dinner.
