Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis Biergarten had been highly recommended to me, along with some rather sketchy directions. I dutifully followed the directions, which seemed to lead to a remote area, but as I rounded a curve, suddenly there it was, nestled in a valley. See pictures. It is not a large Biergarten, seating maybe 800, but the setting is beautiful (it sits on the edge of the Englischer Garten), the staff were professional and helpful, and the food was outstanding. There is a playground for the kids, and a nearby meadow to enjoy. A surprising place, well worth a visit.
Exactly what I was looking for in a beer garden it's right off the English Garden, so it was good to have dinner and then have a walk through the park. It felt authentic, with a lot of locals and folks in traditional Bavarian outfits. Food was great and portions were large, so don't worry about going hungry here!
We should not have eaten there, it only encourages them to keep charging what I think are unreasonable prices for a biergarten experience. An example, 31 Euro for a Wiener schnitzel with fried potatoes is silly. Also, I dont know if the service twosome in the biergarten had a bad afternoon, but they managed to pretty good impersonation of DDR service personnel of the very worst kind.
Visited place with large group (20+). 19 July 2017 Nice and serviceminded staff. Food average good Bayern dishes.
I have eaten here 3 times in the last month and was each time very impressed by the combination of relaxed country atmosphere (It is situated at the foot of a hill in the English Garden and surrounded by trees and forest) and good food. In fact, the saibling (grilled char) was as fresh and tasty as in any specialist fish restaurant, while the traditional duck with red cabbage was as succulent as one could desire.
