Chunky Pies - Mundingburra Australia

Chunky pies is a must-visit if you're looking for quality pies in Townsville. Walking into the shop the smell of freshly baked pies wafted up my nose and I knew instantly that I had found the right place for breakfast. I picked the coconut curry chicken pie and the generous filling kept oozing out, there were also decent chunks of meat in it! Definitely a 5/5 star experience.

Just had the beef and bacon pie for lunch and can definitely say that it was beautiful. Bought a family pie as well for dinner tonight. Customer service was great. Really...what more can you ask for? I'm pretty confident that I will be back in this shop on a regular basis. Highly recommended.

Wonderful coffee, wonderful food, beautiful service every time. I love seeing what the pie of the month is each month and the cheese and bacon sausage roll is the best in Townsville.

I went to Chunky Pies today on Kern Brothers Drive OMG the best pie, chunky steak. Pastry amazing, the flavor in the pie also amazing. You now have a new customer, I was so impressed well done. Oh also the guy that served me could not have been more helpful and he chatted about his new vegan range with passion.

Outstanding pies (and other items like sausage rolls etc); great selection and ladies at the counter are so nice. We had Moroccan Goat pie which apparently won lots of awards last year and it was delicious, the filling tasted like it just came out of a tangine! The other we had was the salmon and soft blue cheese which recently was awarded best seafood pie at a national competition; again delicious. Kids had mini pies and mini sausage rolls a doughnut. They have sweet pastries too and coffee. We have travelling around Australia for the past 18 months and seriously these would be the best pies we have encountered to date; we have covered many outback towns too which generally put city bakeries to shame!
