Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis place is a true neighborhood haunt, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I find the food to be consistently great, from BLT to grilled salmon. They have THE best sides: fried green tomatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, corn fritters, to name a few, with the usuals as well. Try to check out the basic menu before you arrive, but always look for extras and specials on the board while waiting in the walk up line. Fresh desserts vary daily. The staff is terrific and service is the most accommodating around, dine in or carry out. Rush hours are very busy and parking can be a little difficult (a one block walk will get your appetite up). Yet everyone knows the place is a bit small (don’t plan on large groups), so tables turn over relatively quickly. ‘Enjoy your food and try to make room for the next guy’ is never even implied, but customers learn the golden rule for their community. Tried and true, this place is worth any inconveniences, because they’re also great at carry out. Obviously, I love the place. I almost hate to share it, but they deserve your attention. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie sides (average at least twelve), meatless burgers, lots of fish, salads, breakfast before 1100am. Check for specials and consider veggie plate of sides (fried green tomatoes, squash, broccoli casserole, great green beans, corn fritters, etc). Check with staff about altering cooking details.Dietary restrictions: Widely varied menu, from salads to burgers, fried catfish, or fish like salmon and tilapia, and they will cook pretty much to request. Blackened burger? Unseasoned grilled salmon? Don’t be afraid to ask for something, even if it’s not on the menu that way. They’re pretty accommodating.Parking: This spot is in an old strip of businesses on a small street in the medical district. Small shared parking lot that turns over fairly often, but there’s always street parking on residential blocks nearby, with a short walk.Kid friendliness: Best in off hours, but a small kid menu. Classic sides, shrimp basket, fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches, etc. are available. The staff will usually work it out for you.Wheelchair accessibility: I’m always in a wheelchair now. Front door access is a little steep, but there’s always someone to help. If the front room is full, the staff will immediately make sure you are placed somewhere comfortably. Still, it’s always easier in off hours, usually with a companion.
Food, service, and prices were awesome. I had a cheeseburger and salad, my friend had the catfish basket. I also took home the pot roast and chocolate cake. Cake was phenomenal.
Ordered the fish and shrimp combo and the maui Maui platter, food was terrible, Maui Maui was supposed to be fried (was not) tasted like frozen fish and they tried to cook it, like eating rubber. Worst fish and shrimp I have ever seen, one bite and could not eat it. Service was great. I wasted 30.00 on food that was not edible. My cat would not even eat it.
This is one of the best places in Fort Worth. Friendly, homey place with excellent, reasonably priced food. Much the same as it was 20 years ago, which is just fine! Lots of choices on the menu, burgers are great!
Ordered 2 chicken fried steak meals thru uber delivery $50). Literally received 1 cup of gravy that was 1/4 of the container. Called them to talk about it and the customer service was nil. Haven't even eaten the food because nobody wants a dry CFS. Literally nobody!! I feel like the idiot because I read their reviews and the comments clearly say they are stingy with their gravy. Shame on me for thinking that could have been an isolated incident. Trust the reviews.
