We loved speaking with Coco and our waitress, Chrissy, was the best. I had the fried oysters, which are hard to find mainland. We sat outside to a perfect ambiance. Definitely a new favorite of mine!
Very disappointed. I never write reviews, however felt compelled to share a disappointing experience all around...ambiance, food quality, service and drink quality. This is a two star experience at best. Be forewarned. We really wanted to like this place.Ambiance: The outside cute building painted a charming dark color does not reflect what the inside is. it feels like.a hotel continental breakfast space. Large plants would help to break up the long narrow dining area and add a bit of life. The strange blue sponge paint on the wall is a flash back to the 90's.Food: The pictures look great. The reality is something else. We ordered two salads (wedge and Cesar) they were average. The wedge should have cold crisp lettuce. it was crisp, but not cold. Dressing was bottled. Cesar was better. The salmon dinner was over salted. The asparagus was over roasted, leaving the tops dry, withered, and crisp. They left the bottom of the asparagus on, which turned yellow and was woody. The polenta was over cooked and very hard to crunch through. Salmon was good. The famous chocolate caramel cake, which our host raved about from years ago, tasted like it had been frozen and thawed, or been sitting in the refrigerator for too long. Sad.Service: Nice waiter. Asked to start with our two salads. We asked about our salads, after we waited quite a while, unfortunately, the waiter brought our the salads and the meal at the same time. After eating what we were going to eat for the main meal, we ordered dessert, as our guest raved about the chocolate cake. The server brought the cake out without picking up our finished plates and tried to place the dessert plates down amongst the dirty dishes. Our host used to love firefly, in fact had celebrated many special occasions there and was excited to share this place with us. We had a good laugh. This is not that restaurant. Hope they get back to their roots.
This review isn't for food so please keep that In mind. We live in Franklin and don't come down to GH often, but when we do we like to support local spots. We came in for a drink with intention to eat, but was treated with such disregard, that we decided to spend money elsewhere. You would think when you tell the person waiting on you this is your first time here, the staff would hype up the place. I managed restaurants for 13 years and still tell people to go if they're in that area. We were uncomfortable here. The vibe was off and we decided to spend our money elsewhere. I think it's unfortunate since it is a local place, and as much as we support local, we won't be back.
Had a wonderful experience at Cole's Kitchen. Coco? Sp? Was our waitress. She was sweet and very attentive. The food was fabulous. We go Brussel sprouts and coconut shrimp off the small plates. Both delicious. As entrees we tried salmon, scallop and grits, marscapone fettuccine Alfredo, and filet mignon. All of was prepared to perfection. Wonderful experience.
We gathered here at Cole's Kitchen because they had a large outdoor space that would accommodate 20 people. The owner met with us and was very polite and the staff was phenomenal. Everyone's food was out timely and all the dishes were fantastic. Drinks were served to all and the staff kept up with everyone. My filet was excellent and the shrimp and grits were great. Looking forward to returning to Nashville just to try other dishes. The location was great as the women were shopping at Nordstrom's in Green Hills Mall, almost within walking distance. Kudos to all involved with our evening.
