The Bern And Grill

I was searching for a spot in New Bern that served a great burger. While I was tempted to visit a well-known regional chain, I opted for a more local establishment instead, and I’m really glad I did. The burger I had was massive! There were so many choices on the menu, and I managed to order mine medium. It was incredibly thick and juicy, loaded with meat, and truly satisfying. The server was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. I will definitely return to explore the other burger flavors offered. The side portions are quite generous, so I recommend sharing a side if you're dining with someone else. As for parking, the restaurant is located in a shopping center, and during dinner time, I found plenty of available spaces.

What a disappointment! We ordered two meals, and while one arrived promptly and was fine, the fries for the second meal came out with the first, but the sandwich was missing. The food runner was very polite and assured us it would be out soon since it wasn't quite ready yet. After about 20 minutes of waiting with still no sandwich, we inquired again and were told it was "in the works" and would be out shortly. At the 40-minute mark, we checked in once more, only to find that the sandwich hadn't even been started. By then, one meal had already been completely eaten, so we decided to cancel the second meal and paid for just the one we had. This is a place we would definitely not recommend. We ended up having to go to another restaurant so the second person in our group could get something to eat.

The atmosphere was quite loud, which is typical for a bar. The hot dogs were pretty good, and my wife enjoyed her meal. However, I was still waiting for my Ruben sandwich, which never arrived. After a while, we decided to pay for her meal and leave. I'm still hungry, but we'll choose a place with better service next time. They did apologize, but that doesn't really help. JoJo is the best bartender around! The food is great as well. I dined in for dinner and rated everything a perfect 5. The atmosphere is also a solid 5. I highly recommend the hot dogs, French fries, fried mushrooms, chicken wings, tater tots, and pot stickers!
