Avaliação da contribuiçãoOne of my favorite restaurants in Queensborough landing ! Love the varieties, tastes and service especially with our tight work schedule as they can always take our order over the phone prior to our arrival, and the food was always ready when we got there!
We attended Shang's with another couple who frequent Shang's themselves. In our opinion all their tables are small and the table we were seated at would even be considered small for 2 persons let alone 4. We ordered a number of dim sum dishes to share, deep fried squid with spicy peppery salt, deep fried crispy tofu (about 8 pieces 1 inch square), deep fried eggplant (tastes similar to deep fried zucchini), roasted pork belly and Guy Lan (Chinese broccoli) and 3 individual orders of noodles. All the dim sum items were prepared perfectly .but the portions very small (each dim sum dish averaged over $6.00 each for the tiny morsels). Our friend also commented that the portions are now much smaller than previous. We didn't finish all our food and asked for a plastic take out bowl (instead of styrofoam clam shell). Our bill came to over $66.00, the server said they charge .$25 for the bowl. It was stated to the server that if they charged us for the bowl, they will never see us again. Well, I guess they won't see us again. It outrageous that after spending so much money they want to nickel and dime you. A prudent restaurant would already have that cost taken into consideration when they set the price. The price scale below is misleading.......it is a noodle house with inexpensive furniture and decor but the prices do not reflect this. Kirin and Shang's are part of the same restaurant group. For the same money, we could have went next door to Kirin Seafood Restaurant and enjoyed a nice full service sit down dinner. The practice of the 2 restaurants are so different, Kirin Richmond would no charge for the plastic bowl.
Can't speak for the other reviewers experiences but my wife and I really liked the food. Also I found the beer and wine prices very reasonable. The servers that dealt with us were extremely nice and friendly!
I am never disappointed by dimsum at Kirin, everything is always great.
The dim sum at Kirin is known as one of the best in vancouver and honestly, since i don't really like dim sum, I'm not a huge fan but there are both pros
