Pepolino - New York

Had a very nice evening at Pepolino. It's a cute little neighborhood restaurant and it felt like many of the patrons were locals. There are some nice outdoor seating areas as well as an upstairs that seemed popular. However, the food was undistinguished and for a NYC restaurant, below par. Some items, such as a pear and endive salad were good, but most others seemed bland or not really thought-through. Branzino was overcooked and tough.

Mama Mia(chefs kiss) the food hear was sent straight from heaven!! We ordered takeout-endive salad with pasta and branzino. The fish was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The vegetables were perfect. The salad was a perfect combo of greens and pears. My kids enjoyed the pasta. You know they are legit Italians when they give you a lot of bread! Generous bread provided and two different types of my favorite was the focaccia. I will be back for sure.
