Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Newark

This is a fantastic restaurant where you can savor a delicious meal and enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The bar features a great pool table, and there's a jukebox packed with a huge variety of music. The service here is top-notch, earning a solid 5 stars. I highly recommend this place!

I arrived at the restaurant around 4:30 PM and wasn't sure whether I could seat myself, as no one was at the door to assist me. When I asked, the staff member mentioned I could sit near the bar and assured me that if the bartender didn't come to help me, she would. After 10 minutes, she returned to check on me, explaining that she thought the bartender would assist me first and then took my drink order. Another 10 minutes passed before she brought my drink, and then she came back again, apologizing for forgetting that she was supposed to be helping me. Throughout my visit, I had to remind the staff that there were customers waiting at the entrance. I was hoping for a reasonably quick dinner, but I didn't leave until 6:00 PM.

This experience was absolutely fantastic! The chips were freshly made and tasted incredible. I ordered the one-meat platter with beef brisket, along with coleslaw and mac and cheese as my sides. My husband had the Dickey's stacker, which included baked beans, mac and cheese, and slices of beef brisket on top. We both loved our meals! The staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. It had great vibes! We spent about $44.50 for both of us, which is a bit pricey, but totally worth it, just as I said!

I'm really disappointed. I ordered beans and a rib to try their food, but I felt let down and overcharged for the extremely small portions I got. I can only give them one star, which is the absolute minimum. City BBQ is far better in every aspect!

I visited this restaurant for the first time today after hearing high praise from my brother and sister-in-law. Unfortunately, I can confidently say that everyone in our group was very disappointed. The French fries that accompanied my sandwich were cold, dark, and soggy. The pulled pork was dry and overcooked. It also took an unusually long time for us to place our orders, and the staff seemed poorly trained; nobody seemed to know what they were doing. I won’t be coming back. This experience was truly disappointing—I would rate it less than one star if that were possible.
