Haute Cakes - Newport Beach

I was able to substitute pumpkin pancakes, and they were delicious! My sister chose a tasty lavender latte. The self-serve coffee was great too—I ended up having four cups! The outdoor atmosphere is fantastic, with an open area surrounded by plenty of greenery!

As you can see from the photos, their menu is extensive, and given how busy they get, it's impressive that they can manage such a wide variety of dishes while keeping up with demand. There are two entrances: the left side is primarily for coffee and takeout orders (though I’m not sure if their selection is limited), while the entrance on the middle/right side is for those dining in. For our first meal of the day, we tried the orange ricotta haute cakes, carnitas burrito, and Brussels bacon scramble. The orange ricotta haute cakes are a standout – they are truly next-level pancakes. Served warm and topped with a delicious berry jam or compote, along with a side of maple syrup, these haute cakes have a delightful gooey texture, reminiscent of raw cookie dough but cooked just right. You can definitely taste the subtle hints of orange zest infused in the pancakes. They’re not overly sweet, and adding syrup only enhances, rather than masks, the cake's flavor. Overall, it’s a light yet slightly indulgent dish that you might find yourself craving after finishing it. I highly recommend the haute cakes; they're likely one of their signature offerings. The carnitas burrito exceeded my expectations. The tenderness of the carnitas paired wonderfully with the cool, creamy avocado and bits of cotija cheese. I detected a smoky flavor from the carnitas, which added a nice touch. The dish comes with a generous serving of potatoes, and there's also some kind of crema or sour cream on the side (I’m not sure if it’s chipotle or something spicier) that you can use for your potatoes or burrito. Finally, the Brussels bacon scramble was a delightful addition to our meal.

One of the best breakfast in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. The customer service was excellent. I got the Sergio burrito and my wife had the American Breakfast. The food was ready is few minutes. The location has good parking and there is indoor andoutdoor seating. It?s a little bit busy not crazy busy.

Go to place in Newport during the day, they have a great vibe and amazing outdoors. Brunch, lunch done right. Very friendly staff and the owner is always around which means a lot in this industry. Buckwheat Haute Cake is a must try. Their jams are verytasty fresh and light. Check this place out you will come back again.

BREAKFAST BLISS ! On Sunday we planned to have breakfast here....rain, hail or shine. As it turned out it was raining so no bike ride on the day. Instead we jumped in our car and arrived here just before 8am opening time to beat the rush. AND WE DID ! As we walked inside we said hi to Cane cashier, food runner pancake chef. FIRST IN LINE ! At the cashier counter Ana the charming cashier also barista food runner took our brekkie order...1 x FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE, 1 x ALL AMERICAN SCRAMBLE 2 eggs bacon cheddar avocado tomato toast jam potatoes , 1 x PIERRE'S SCRAMBLE two eggs asparagus caramelized onions tomatoes goat cheese toast jam potatoes and 2 x LATTES with caramel syrup. We paid up front and were given no 73. I took my chilled glass of Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice with me to our table at the back of the indoor dining area. FAST SERVICE ! This was our 4th breakfast visit in less than a month and we never cease to be astounded how quick everything hits the table. Of course the prediction of cyclonic rain had dampened things down a bit on Sunday morning....though it got busier before we left at 8.40am. I could see Ella the barista working on our Lattes so I walked over to the espresso bar to collect them. THEY LOOKED FABULOUS ! I had barely returned to our table with our lattes when bingo....our breakfast dishes arrived courtesy of friendly Miriam the food runner also team leader, barista cashier . AS GOOD AS IT GETS ! Our well made lattes tasted rich and very satisfying. My wife totally enjoyed her amazing American Scramble. Pierre's Scramble...what can I say...it has everything that makes a great breakfast dish. I LOVED IT ! My fresh squeezed orange juice tasted perfect....to the last drop. WITHOUT A DOUBT ! Haute Cakes Caffe knows how to deliver the perfect breakfast experience !
