Puerto Vallarta - Newton

Giving one start basically because I have to. The hostess, who was also our waitress, was VERY rude. My guest and I both said 'thank you ' more than once and she just walked away to get on her phone and loudly play music in the booth directly in front of us. She never came back to the table to refill drinks or ask how the food was. The chips and salsa were honestly the only good thing we experienced there. Our entrees were both luke warm at best when they arrived and I couldn 't even stomache the ground beef in my burrito. If I am craving Mexican Food I 'll gladly make the drive to El Rancharito in Effingham after this mess!

I'm only giving it a one star simply because I needed to in order to do a review. My husband and myself and a few of his coworkers went there last night for supper. I Chalupa in case anyone was wondering which comes into play looks like a taco only gets a tortilla soft that is fried and then has all of the ingredients added to it and it's held like a taco. I tostada is simply a hardshell taco casing that is flat that has refried beans lettuce and maybe a dollop of sour cream on it. I hate hardshell tacos. I ordered a combo that had 1 enchilada one Chalupa and one chili rellano (sp). When my food was brought to me the Chalupa was not a Chalupa it was a toaster so I asked him to please get me the number 16 I had ordered that this was a tostada not a Chalupa. He took it back someone else came out questioning me again once again I said this is not a Chalupa this is a tostada. They go in the back again with my food then come out and try to tell me that now that is a Chalupa I'm like no that's a tostada I've had chalupas many times in authentic Mexican restaurants. And this is not one. She insisted it was so I kept the plate decided it wasn't worth the argument. Then to top it all off she's right on the other side of the partition mocking me and making fun of me so I told her hey I can hear you she goes and hides in the back. After all of this we got to the register because my husband and I are receipt they gave us a 40% tax and they gave his coworkers 40% tax we pointed this out to them they tried to argue and say no that's the right tax I said well tax rate is 6.25% tell if the total and will figure the tax suddenly no tax they were adding their tip on there and putting it in as tax and not telling the customers highly illegal and unethical. After much discussion back-and-forth where they pretended not to be able to understand me and said that there was no manager on site. They took off the meal that I did not even take more than two or three bites off of considering that not only was it not the food I wanted but it was also horrible. None of us out of the four people at the table liked the food it was disgusting

Ordered carry out last night! It was awful!! Tasted as if they'd just dumped salt on the vegetables, which looked like they'd been cooked weeks ago! Chicken was flavorless and beans so runny you had yo eat with a spoon! The other entre was supposed to come with beans and rice and was not included! Two other times we've had that happen! Meals barely warm and we live 1 mile away! Will not eat there again!

There was a waiter and a cook. The food came within minutes, which most likely means it was just microwaved and already pre-made.

Puerto Vallarta has gone downhill over the past couple of years. There used to be a general manager but now I believe there isn't one. I've tried to give this place many chances, but every time I go there now something disappoints. The only thing I get now, if I'm desperate for Mexican food, are the tacos de carne asada, and extra salsa picosa. Its just sad.
