Karmas Indian Restaurant is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered!. Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I visited Karmas Indian Restaurant located at 8100 Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls, Canada. The restaurant is located at the front of a Howard Johnson’s motel. <br/ <br/ Inside, you will find a small bar with a large screen TV and multiple basic tables for patrons. This restaurant is not at all fancy, but tidy and comfortable. <br/ <br/ The waiter greeted us promptly and brought over water, plates and cutlery. We ordered a few drinks (beer and wine) and began to investigate the menu. Since we had never been to Karmas before, the waiter was kind enough to suggest a few dishes. <br/ <br/ We started with Samosas (pastry stuffed with potato and vegetable; served with Indian chutney) and Chaat Papri (crispy wafers served with Indian chutney). Our main course consisted of 2 orders of plain rice, Chicken Curry (chicken cooked in fresh tomato and onion based sauce with Indian herbs and spices) and Chaanna Bhatura (chick peas cooked in authentic spices) and Naan bread (Indian bread cooked in tandoor (clay) oven). Following dinner, the waiter placed a bowl of sugar coated fennel seeds. Chewing fennel seeds after a meal is a common practice in India. They aid in digestion and also freshen the breath. <br/ <br/ Our dining experience at Karmas was an excellent way to savour authentic Indian cuisine. The unique assortment of tastes and textures made this meal exciting and memorable! We will definitely recommend and return soon!
Best butter chicken in Niagara! I'm from Mississauga (just south of Indian nation, Brampton) and have tried many butter chicken dishes.. This would be ranked as the 3rd best butter chicken I have tried.. The chicken could be more tender which is what lacks, but still good, and the sauce is perfect with the right amount of punch. The naan is fantastic as well..
Excellent indian food in Niagara Falls, ON. Chicken curry and fish masala was authentic. Service was very good as well. Strongly recommend. Will surely visit again.
Overall good. We tried their limited time special, the channa bhatura and butter chicken. The bhatura was very good, full of flavour. I only ate the sauce in the butter chicken and that was good. The 'naan ' was pretty gross... not real naan. It only tasted like grease. To be fair it wasn 't even advertised as naan.. but as 'light fluffy bread ' either way it was a failure. The decor is very modern and beautiful. I wish the prices were a bit cheaper and the service was faster. I mean $10 for a chick pea dish that I can make at home?
