Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe first remarkable pieces of this experience at Tamarind begin with the smell of fresh food and an unbeatable standard of cleanliness. You can smell “clean” at the front of the restaurant with a following blow prepared by savory dekadent flavors of fresh food. The area was very clean, very welcoming!! The front person I accept is the owner; in polite and friendly conversation at any table. That was pleasant and refreshing to see!! The front area is very simple, “no frills” it is just that. Simplicity with a very high standard and this makes a very stylish and cozy atmosphere. The service is order at the counter and then pay, they will naturally lead the food to your table. The price for quantity and quality is solidly fair. Very good prices to say under $37 for 2 drinks, 2 plates, and an appetizer. I am not vegetarian/vegan and they have an extensive selection to keep a person very happy in this lifestyle. The samosas are a large slam, very sharp, aromatic and above all tasteful. I think the Samosas are very fulfilling and very satisfying compared to other appetizers in other places. For lunch we order Butter Chicken and Chicken Biryani. I was in some of the Indian/halaal/Bangladeshi restaurants, and Tamarind is sure to deal with them. The butter chicken was creamy, the sauce was solid and not separate, nor was it gritty. It was tasteful, you can taste the spices and certainly not done excessively. The chicken was very tender and spiced right. The plates were not salty at all... no one needed. The Biryani was excellent, I ordered as “very spicy”.... I have a good tolerance for hot/spicy food, and that caught me from the guard. I had to ask the owner what his tactics are and what kind of pepper they use, and I am glad to know that fresh green chillies are used to heat load “powder”. They are finely comminuted and folded into the tariff. At the first bite, the basil, cilantro, onions are very fresh... and you get the “bright green” fresh taste of paprika. Very well done. I have a little to go to try everything on their menu....but I'll come there! I would like to visit businesses and give them an attempt 2-3 times before a review is dealt with. If it's so bad, obviously you want to give the warning at the first chance. This is well past the 4-5 time and at least a 5-star rating is required, I wish I could give more. Tamarind and the team deserve it. 1. Cleanliness 2. Hospitality 3. Quality Food 4. Great atmosphere This is Tamarind. Very recommended!!
Great location. Amazing food. Friendly staff. Interior and exterior seats. Central location in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Authentic kitchen. My experience was great and I highly recommend that you give this place a shot, I will definitely go back because of my experience.
We came here twice at our 2 day visit to Virginia Beach. This is a great little restaurant. The owner Tejas is very friendly and hospitable. Great atmosphere. Eating is amazing and feels like cooking at home.
Came over Tamarind on Google Maps when I was looking for another business. I'm glad I decided to stop because everything was great! I had the Mysore Dosa and a coconut water (my first dosa, but I wanted to try one) for lunch that came with Chutney and a vegetable soup. The whole taste was there and so was the spices. I was very happy! Customer service was great and the restaurant was so clean. I'm definitely back.
This was our first visit to Taramind, and our first Indian food in probably 30 years. The staff was very helpful explaining some of the different menu options, and we appreciated both their explanations and recommendations. My wife had the curry chicken and rice, and I had the chicken dosa, and we shared coconut laddoos for dessert. We ordered mild since it was our first visit, and both entrees were pleasantly spicy. We didn't have any set expectations since this was something new, but we were very happy for the experience and very much enjoyed the food, and we plan to make another visit.
