Riverside Grill - North Ayrshire

Food is nice but the service is really poor. They do not appear to have enough staff and no organisation in terms of who is doing what. Waited a while on food and spoon given for desert didn’t actually fit the pot it was in. I also observed 2 tables having to ask for cutlery as their meals had arrived. The person serving the food does not offer any condiments etc. Also really need to look at how they serve their fajitas. It is ridiculous and dangerous.

Went to the riverside with family and was really pleased. The food was excellent. I had a cheese and bacon burger that was delicious. The staff went above and beyond on an obviously busy lunch. Would highly recommend

Enjoyed 2 days meals here. No complaints about the food as it was well presented and delicious. Chef was very helpful with my allergies.

Had dinner here as part of a voucher which included 3 courses and a glass of fizz and I was impressed by the choice of options for each course. The whole meal was fantastic. For starters we had the haggis and chicken with black pudding, both were lovely, as was the steak and sausage pie with mash and veg. The desserts were good and even the fizz was nice and not the cheap tasting stuff you'd expect on a deal. Staff were friendly.

We had an itison voucher for a 3 course dinner at the riverside, we have been many times before and always look forward to visiting as the food is always good but things have changed. The main thing is that service is so so slow, we were in the restaurant for 2 hrs 45 mins which is ridiculous and we had to keep reminding them about our drinks. They are also cutting corners with the food as we were given a cheap slice of bread with the soup and small scoops of ice cream with no decoration or sauce and you dont get fries with any main meal unless you buy as a side and you dont get ice cream with any of the desserts. We ordered the cajun chicken but it tastied like curry sauce not cajun sauce. I dont think we will be rushing back as meals are filled with veg to fill the plates out and the ice cream didn't taste anything like the flavours we had asked for. Definitely gone downhill since our last visit!
