The team at the Homestead focus on bringing wholesome home-style food to their weird-arse family. Of course there are some fried pub staples in the mix, but week on week the specials board is ever-changing, offering fantastic soups, vegetarian dishes and some of the best curries you’ll find in Hobart!

Highly recommended! Awesome food at a very reasonable price.. We recently had a meal here as a family to celebrate our daughters birthday. We have had bar snacks here before which have always been awesome, so decided to try their dinner menu. The food was fantastic! None of the main courses we ordered were priced over about (including scallops). The vegetarian burritos, Moroccan tofu and Open Greek Chicken Wrap were all beautifully presented, very generous proportions of delicious, flavoursome and fresh food. From teenagers to year old Grandma, we all felt welcome and comfortable. The alternative atmosphere might not be for everyone, but we love it. The red velvet lounge area makes a great backdrop for photos too!

Nice location, quiet, and if you go before their busy lunch / dinner time, there aren't a lot of people in the cafe, so can just sit and enjoy coffee,
