Avaliação da contribuiçãoIt's review time! I have traveled all over Southern California in search of Soul Food that can satisfy the country boy in me. After 4 years, I have finally found it. The thickness and texture of the grits are perfect, and the Smoked Chicken is absolutely delicious. I had to devour the ribs because they tasted just like my own recipe. Pick up that rib and enjoy! I believe that great blessings are coming to this family-owned business. This is authentic Soul Food that deserves a 5-star rating.
This was an unexpected drive by discovery and I was not disappointed. I had a half rack of the ribs and a cup of gumbo and I enjoyed them both. While they have a few tables outside, this is more of a takeout or delivery place. I need up because I didn't see the Friday Fish Fry deal, so vote I'll have to go back on another Friday for that.
The following week, I ordered delivery from this restaurant and tried the 16 oz Gumbo (pretty good), mac n cheese (really good), and shrimp and grits (grits were good but plain boiled shrimp were not seasoned as described - came with a weak flavored broth).
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally had the chance to do so for lunch. They only offer takeout, so make sure to order in advance. The food was delicious. We had chicken, gumbo mac and cheese, and peach cobbler. The peach cobbler was unique, but it was lacking in peaches. I prefer my peach cobbler to have lots of peaches. However, they do offer a delicious mixed drink that is really good. If you are ever in North Hollywood, I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant to check them out.
Enjoyed this place quite a bit. There bbq sauce is spectacular. Brisket was tender, juicy, and the right amount of fat. Very meaty St. Louis style ribs that were tender. Gumbo was full of shrimp and sausage with a little zing of spiciness to it. Jalapeño cornbread was moist and delicious. Coleslaw was crisp and tasty. My least favorite item was the red beans and rice, but i think it's because I was full and had a liot to live up to when compared to everything else I ate. In addition I think the price was more than reasonable. In fact I think it was a bargain. I'd really rate Black Bottom overall around a 4.6 or 4.7, but the rating system doesn't allow for this score. Lastly, the restaurant seemed like a family run business and they were working hard. I'll support this type of place anytime I can.
